Old Guard Games: Post Malone Visits Old Guard Games. Post Malone was in Milwaukee Wisconsin as a headlining performer at SummerFest, America’s largest outdoor music festival where he performs tonight on the main stage. (press release Jun 27, 2026)

On Friday, Post Malone stopped by Old Guard Games, Milwaukee’s premier game store. Known for their large selection of Magic the Gathering cards and collectables and huge MTG gaming community, as well as traditional board games, wargame, Warhammer, Pokémon and more. Old Guard was one of many stops on Post’s active tour of Milwaukee. Post graciously spent considerable time in the store chatting with staff and customers sharing their love of Magic the Gathering (pictured with Old Guard Games store manager Josh Lowere) before making some purchases and heading out.

Post Malone’s love of Magic the Gathering is well documented. He is sophisticated collector and player. His games are often live streamed on the “Game Knight” show on The Commander Zone YouTube channel and his collection of rare and unusual cards is legendary. He has also collaborated with Wizards of the Coast, the company that creates and produces Magic the Gathering. Old Guard Games is thrilled to have been a spot on Post Malone’s itinerary while in Milwaukee.

Badger Games: Pontoonier Miniatures Releases Norse and Natives for Vinland C. 1000 AD

Badger Games: For centuries, the Norse terrorized the coastal world from Europe to North Africa to even Asia. Driven by a lack of land, an adventurous spirit and a thirst for plunder, the Vikings terrorized much of the known world. However, in the West, due to distance, smaller numbers and difficulty in supply, the Vikings were not able to act as they did in Europe and could find themselves on the defensive.

The Vinland Sagas speak of the voyages of Leif Erickson, the early Norse settlements and the people they encountered. The fertile lands these settlers found were not as easy to hold and their interactions not always friendly. 

Pontoonier Miniatures created this line, designed by the late, great Rob Baker, to represent the less well equipped farmers of the Vinland settlements and the native peoples they occasionally came into conflict with. Each side is represented by some command types, warriors, missile troops and casualties. These are perfect for Skirmish games like Mana Press’ TRIBAL or even larger scales like SAGA. The inspiration of HND comes from the recognition that roleplay gaming has greatly expanded from its Midwestern origins to a worldwide phenomenon. The worlds of Dungeons & Dragons and other systems have expanded well beyond their Tolkienesque, Dark Ages Europe origins to a more cosmopolitan roleplay world. Yet…figures have not kept pace.

HND miniatures combine all of the characterfulness of classic miniatures with the wide-ranging roleplay universe and fantastic quality sculpts. These four miniatures represent Druids. Badger Games: Pontoonier has released the first wave of miniatures in a range of figures to cover the first forays of Italy into East Africa in the 1880s. Theses cover the irregular infantry of the Kingdom of Ethiopia. While designed for the 1880s and 1890s and taken from period photographs and illustrated newspapers, these figures have a far wider reach. Many of the melee armed figures will work for Ethiopian armies from the late Medieval period through the Renaissance. Add in the firearms and these figures will work for the 18th Century, Victorian Era and even through the Second World War.

In the Victorian Era alone, Ethiopia fought wars against Britain, Italy, Ottoman Turkey, Ethiopian Warlords, Egypt, Zanzibar, Somali Tribes, Belgians and even two wars with the Madhi of the Sudan. Badger Games: New Have A Nice Day Fantasy Character Models

Badger Games: HND's goal was to find a happy medium between having the classic Medieval British lok of Tolkien inspired classic D&D and the modern, crossroads, cosmopolitan look and feel of modern D&D. So, while inspiration is drawn from a medieval European look for some, others are drawn from Medieval Asia, Africa, Polynesia, Central and South America and beyond. We are very happy with the result.

We also scaled them all, so that a party with humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes and halflings will all scale perfectly together and when pitted against monsters like our Orc range. Again we are very happy with the result. This is just the tip of the iceberg as we plan to release 12-24 figures a month for the next 4 months for the character figures alone as well as a lot more monsters from the original monster manual.

Badger Games: Pontoonier Miniatures Releases Old West Federales

Badger Games: No more need to repurpose Maximillian Adventure or Pershing Expedition Mexican regulars for your Old West games as Pontoonier has released wave one of a huge range of 28mm Mexican army figures for the late 1870s, the 1880s and 1890s.

Frederick Remington was renown for his accurate artistic representations of the Old West (Native Americans, Cowboys, Settlers and more). Remington made several trips to Mexico. In the late 1880s, he traveled throughout Mexico for nearly two months sketching and painting the people he came across for Harper’s Weekly. His artwork, from his firsthand observations, sketches and paintings form the basis of tis range. 

This first offering is of the Infantry as they appeared on campaign. Artillery and Cavalry and much more will follow! During this period, the Mexican Federal Army or “Federales” faced off against Ex-Confederate Raiders who refused to quit, Wayward US patrols. Apaches, Comanches, Comancheros, Peon uprisings, Warlords, Civil Wars, Outlaws, Banditos and a decades long conflict with the Yaqui.
