WIP Games and Miniatures: I'm happy to announce that On Bloody Ground - The Italian Wars is now on full release! All pre-orders were shipped out at the end of last week, and many of you have already started to let us know they have already arrived!

As with all of our OBG titles, this book keeps all the mechanics that are the solid core of our rules, and adds period flavour through army choices, army specific rules, characters and new keywords. The Italian Wars is a very interesting period for wargaming, with various tactics being employed to better one another, giving you a variety of choices with which to build your force!

If you have played On Bloody Ground before, or have been waiting for this period to be released before you jump into the game, once you've learned the core mechanics, you won't have to re-learn them when you try out a new book!

WIP Games and Miniatures: The Sea Peoples have arrived! As we've been showing over the past week or so, lots of work has been going on at WiP HQ to re-organise our miniature ranges into packs. Some of these needed new sculpts, the first of which are the Sea Peoples, which are now available on our website.

This re-release, and additions to the Sea Peoples range, means packs are now available for: Command, Swordsmen, Armoured Swordsmen, Sherden Guard Swordsmen and Javelinmen, Javelinmen, Archers, Spearmen, Chariot (3 crew). WIP Games and Miniatures: On Bloody Ground The American War of Independence Pre-Order

WIP Games and Miniatures: We're very pleased to announce that our next rulebook in the On Bloody Ground series is now up on the website for pre-order! OBG - The American War of Independence has been a lot of fun to work on, and we've had some amazing playtest games with this period. Terrain and army choice is a big part of each battle, as is trying to out manoeuvre your opponent in order to get a few shots into enemy units, before charging in for combat!

The British army, fresh from victory in the French and Indian War, is a mobile, elite force, with some excellent allied units available within their Hessian and Loyalist allies. The Continental Army, although primarily made up of troops with less experience, is also able to tap into a variety of effective and unique elite units, as well as its French allies, who themselves are also a stand alone army. The Spanish, although not able to directly join forces with either the Continental or French armies, have an effective range of unit and commander options, and are certainly able to stand their ground against even the most determined onslaught from the British! WIP Games and Miniatures: Our second release for On Bloody Ground this year takes us to civil wars in Japan and the invasion of Korea with – Sengoku Jidai and Imjin War. The Warring States period saw the rise of powerful Daimyos and ultimately an emergence of the Great Unifiers - Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

One of the Great Unifiers, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, then initiated an invasion of Japanese forces into Korea, which ultimately led to a stalemate on his path to conquering China. With Early and Late Warring Clans armies, you can use traditional weaponry, or bring new and more powerful gunpowder weapons to battle with the latter. Also, you can stymie your opponents' plans with Shinobi! The Ikko-Ikki bring forces that opposed local governors, and have their famous religious banners to keep your troops inspired and in the fight.

WIP Games and Miniatures: Today's miniature release takes us around 1000 years forwards to Ancient Greece. We are now at a stage where we are rounding off the whole Greek range and although there are a few more essential things to add, these are coming soon!

The Thespians are noted as being loyal and stalwart allies to Leonidas and his Spartan Royal Guard at their last stand at the Battle of Thermopylae, with their commander Demophilus. With this new command, and our Thespian Hoplites you can add a Thespian contingent your army to hold off against the Persian invasion and fight for the defence of Greece! WIP Games and Miniatures: We've just signed off the proof for our next 'On Bloody Ground' release - Alexander's Successors 322-281BC. This book has been much requested and anticipated, so we're really excited to have it finished and in the print process. As with our 'Wars of the Roses' release, all  'pre-release' orders for 'Alexander's Successors' will come with a free sheet of self adhesive tufts. 

We're expecting to receive stock from our printers around the beginning of October, so you have around two weeks to get your orders in, because once we have stock, the pre order offer will be removed from the website! You can pre-order via the link here

WIP Games and Miniatures: WIP Games and Miniatures are at BRITCON next weekend, August 23rd – August 24th! If you are looking to try your hand at On Bloody Ground and have some fun (in what’s looking to be a very hot weekend!) then come along and roll some dice with us! 

We will be holding a participation game using On Bloody Ground – The Norman Conquest. The setting: “At the turn of the 11th Century AD a combined force of Irish and Viking allies attacked the North-Western territories of Mercia. The dispute came down to a long line of traditions from both sides over an area of holy ground destined to be the start of a new place of worship, or a place where plenty of trade could be commenced…" 

This is a fictional scenario using On Bloody Ground – The Norman Conquest, where you can take the side of the defending Saxon forces led by the Mercian Ealdorman Eadric, or the combined invading forces led by Brian Boru!”
