BigRedBat: To The Strongest! Lust for Glory - Mid 17th to Late 18th Century Warfare Rules!

BigRedBat: This is the PDF “Preview” edition of Lust for Glory, the To the Strongest! (TtS!) miniatures rules for the mid-seventeenth to late eighteenth century. They enable two or more players to fight a battle in around two hours, with figures in any scale, based for any rule system.

Lust uses the familiar TtS! activation system, in which movement, shooting and combat are driven by chits or playing cards. It is played on a grid and is fast and brutal. Despite its simplicity, it incorporates many of the features of warfare in the period, such as platoon fire, Highland charges and tactics from Eastern Europe and beyond.

This Preview edition lets you play Lust ahead of full publication in April or May 2027, at a discount relative to the next year's launch price. It doesn't include the photos of miniatures and games - these will only be in the final edition. But I will email you the final digital edition as soon as it is published.

The PDF is 78 pages long and around 3MB in size. It can be printed out or viewed on a tablet, using numerous hyperlinks to navigate around the rules. A free Lust Quick Reference Sheet (QRS) is also available. Why wait until next year? Buy the Preview now, start playing straight away, and receive the final edition as soon as it is ready! Pen and Sword: New A Wargamer's Guide to The One Hundred Years War Pre-Order

Pen and Sword: The Hundred Years War is one of the most famous conflicts of the Middle Ages and has always been popular with wargamers. Guy Bowers has written this guide to help those looking to get started in gaming this colourful and dramatic period as well as old hands looking to refresh their gamin experience.

After a brief overview of the war, outlining its three key phases, the author discusses the various armies, not just the English and French but also Welsh, Scottish, Flemish and Burgundian allies and mercenaries. Their recruitment, organization and tactics are concisely considered and their strengths, weaknesses and overall effectiveness are considered. There is a chapter on weapons and armour in the period and a brief survey of significant battles demonstrates that there is more to it than the famous English victories at Crecy, Poitiers and Agincourt.

Guy discusses various approaches to wargaming the conflict, giving advice on choosing the scale and type of game that suits you and finding the appropriate set of rules. The available figure ranges are similarly reviewed. Six scenarios, each with a map and clear victory conditions, are included along with a list of recommended reading. Whether new to gaming this period or a veteran, this handy guide will prepare you to cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war. Grab your own discounted pre-order here

Noble Knight Games: New Bolt Action Ayo Gorkhali! - Gurkha Starter Army

Noble Knight Games: Send in the Gurkhas! The Gurkha regiments of the Indian Army were some of the most famous (and feared) Commonwealth troops of the Second World War. Recruited from mountainous Nepal, and wielding the lethal Kukri knives, Gurkhas proved to be tough, determined, and incredibly deadly soldiers - particularly when combat devolved into close-quarters fighting. In the jungles of the Far East, they put their skills to good use, earning a reputation that has persisted to the present day.

In Bolt Action, rules for a Gurkha force can be found in the Indian Army section of Armies of the British Commonwealth. The Ayo Gorkhali! special rule (named for their battle-cry) allows you to create an entire army of Gurkhas, who (naturally) specialise in getting up close and personal with the enemy, and this starter army gives you everything you need to field a well-rounded force on the tabletop, themed around Gurkha forces fighting against Japanese troops in the Far East. Second Escape Games: World War Two Game: No Easy Ground - Exclusive Discount Code Inside!

Second Escape Games: Second Escape Games has just (re)launched a set of WWII company-size tabletop wargaming rules. No Easy Ground is the latest edition of what many wargamers will recognise as Iron Cross. Iron Cross was originally published by Great Escape Games in 2012 and has built a loyal following since it was first released.

No Easy Ground is a company-sized game that can be played in under two hours. There is no fixed scale, or unit size, so players can use whatever miniatures they already have. The 100-page full colour rulebook features lots of illustrations and photos, plus examples of how the rules work. The rulebook is accompanied by a deck of 56 “tactical cards”, which add an element of uncertainty and randomness to the game, and a range of gaming tokens.

Second Escape Games is offering a 5% discount to Wargame News and Terrain readers, which can be accessed here (link here) Some of the product bundles also feature additional discounts.
