Second Escape Games: Second Escape Games has just (re)launched a set of WWII company-size tabletop wargaming rules. No Easy Ground is the latest edition of what many wargamers will recognise as Iron Cross. Iron Cross was originally published by Great Escape Games in 2012 and has built a loyal following since it was first released.

No Easy Ground is a company-sized game that can be played in under two hours. There is no fixed scale, or unit size, so players can use whatever miniatures they already have. Armies from Bolt Action and Flames of War both work well. The company has announced plans to launch some figure ranges towards the end of 2026, which will accompany the first campaign book.

The 100-page full colour rulebook features lots of illustrations and photos, plus examples of how the rules work. The rulebook is accompanied by a deck of 56 “tactical cards”, which add an element of uncertainty and randomness to the game, and a range of gaming tokens.

NLWright: Sing, goddess, of the anger of Achilles ... Ilium: A Game of Heroes (2026) is a table-top miniatures game inspired by Homer's greatest epic. Players take on the role of mighty Trojan and Achaean heroes, each supported by a contingent of followers, as they compete for Kleos (κλέος) – deeds of renown that will have their names remembered through time.

Noble Knight Games: By the latter half of the Second World War the British Army had brought its combined arms approach to warfare to a perfect pitch. Meticulous planning and overwhelming firepower made it an efficient fighting force, and one that could achieve its objectives while minimising casualties. From the discipline of the Guards, the ferocity of the Black watch to the elan of the Yeomanry, regiments from all corners of the country fought with distinction.
