Orcs in the Webbe: The 2017 Advent Calendar Begins!
Orcs in the Webbe: Heya Folks! It is with great pleasure I can announce that the 2017 Orcs in the Webbe Advent calendar is live! Over the next 25 days (yep, there's even a special Christmas Day release) we'll be bringing you a brand new never before seen article or download every day!
They range from short stories to full blown scenarios for a variety of games systems supported by Orcs in the Webbe (and maybe even introducing some new ones to the OITW fold).
Our inaugural 2017 release is by Flintloque alumnus and Panzerfauste co-creator, Matthew Hartley. Matthew has once again created a brand new and original card game exclusively for the calendar. In "The Raft of the Medusa" 3 to 6 players take on the roles of shipwrecked crew afloat in the North Atlantic Ocean in 1816. Being one of a handful of survivors your comrades have succumbed to starvation, thirst, madness and despair. You must make hard decisions in order to survive must survive until rescued. But beware, your choices make come back to haunt you when you are eventually rescued... Check the article here
Day two of the Orcs in the Webbe Advent Calendar sees classic Flintloque alumnus Danny O'Hara turn his attention to a less well known area of Valon, the Kinkon Delta! Oh yes! In this years short story we are introduced to a new cast of characters in one of the quirkier Flintloque 'spin-off' settings.Click on the link below to read, " A Heart of Dorcness". Check the article here The Kinkon Delta setting has impressive pedigree. First published back in 1996 by one of the games creators, Steve Blease, in the official magazine, Orcs in the Hills. That article is also available in full on OITW, just click on the link below to read, "The Kinkon Delta". Check the article here
Cementing the setting's place in modern Flintloque, back in November 2007 Alternative Armies' Lead Writer and Head of the World of Valon, Gavin Syme, wrote a follow up article for Flintloque Reloaded which was updated by my good self in 2014 giving you full rules for playing in this fantastic side step universe :) Click on the link below to read, "The Kinkon Goblins". So, get your Rolling Stones out and sing along, "I see a line of Orcs and they're all painted Blacke"! Check the article here

Orcs in the Webbe: Sharke's Breakfast! - Another Classic Flintloque Article Updated for 3rd Edition
Orcs in the Webbe: Today sees another classic 1st Edition scenario restored on Orcs in the Webbe. Another classic from Mike Baumann's Filbanto Stew website.
Klaus Fritsch's Sharke's Breakfast was actually first published on Orcs in the Webbe during it's very first incarnation way back in 2004 (yep we've been going that long), for some reason when I made the jump from Dreamweaver to GooglePages in 2007 Sharke's Breakfast did not make it. So after an absence of nine years it has been restored for your reading pleasure. In it, at the siege of Badjobz, before the storming of the breaches, Captains Sharke (of Albion's Rifles) and Porcaria (of Al Garvey's Caçadores) make a bet to meet each other for breakfast whilst the war against the Ferach Elves continues on around them. As usual I've included full notes to allow playing with 3rd Edition rules but left the article as is for all you still playing 1st Edition :) Check it here

Orcs in the Webbe: Koop and Mursh Return! - Classic Flintloque Article Updated for 3rd Edition
Orcs in the Webbe: Today sees another classic 1st Edition scenario for the Flintloque Archive Project restored to it's rightful place on Orcs in the Webbe.
This scenario, originally published on Mike Baumann's excellent Filbanto Stew Website, is one of my all time favourites and one we played more than once back in the nineties. In it, Valonian Palaeodracologists Koop and Mursh clash with each other (and some Native Eastern Valonian Centaurs) over the ownership of ancient bones. As usual I've included full notes to allow playing with 3rd Edition rules but left the article as is for all you still playing 1st Edition :) Check the full article here

Orcs in the Webbe: The Orcs in the Webbe 2016 Funding Drive
Orcs in the Webbe: I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year! I has a blast organizing, editing and uploading the 2015 Advent Calendar and I agree with many of you that it was indeed one of the last eight years!
I've been running Orcs in the Webbe now for just over eleven years and since it's inception back in 2004 it has been maintained and updated by me. Since I upgraded the site to Version 7 back in 2013 the site costs me a little under £100 a year to run (you can see a history of Orcs in the Webbe's development at the end of this message).
So the time has come to do my first funding drive. Just like BoardGameGeek, Wikipedia and many other sites, I ask if you get enjoyment out of the site during the year, even if it's just the twenty-four new pieces of content in the calendar just click on one of the links below and donate. You could even set up a recurring subscription to continue supporting OITW throughout the year. More details here.

Orcs in the Webbe: Dracile - An Original Flintloque Short Story
Orcs in the Webbe: The eighteenth day of the Orcs in the Webbe 2015 Advent Calendar is, as many of you know, my birthday. As such Gavin Syme, head writer at Alterntive Armies is kind enough to write a story or scenario for me each year featuring the Dracci, one of my favourite races from their Flintloque skirmish game. This year he has penned a fantastic short story looking at what exactly it takes to create a new rational thinking citizen of the Elf kingdom of Armorica?
Can anyone become a citizen? Must you be born an Elf? Famous philosopher Jaques Rossau thinks its possible and with the help of his former student Henri Amadee, a creature is brought from the deserts of Aegypt in a cage to Lyonesse. A creature that is the essence of savagery. Will the monster prevail or will it become with help the unique Dracile?
