Perry Miniatures: Plastic Revolutionary French Infantry Update

Perry Miniatures: Plastic Revolutionary French Infantry update. The final frame (the command frame) has been finished and the 28mm plastic Revolutionary French Infantry can now go into production. They will go up for pre-order in the first week in August, when we’ll show more pictures of them in units etc, and will be released about a week later.

As you can see the command frame has seven torsos and ten pairs of legs including more gaitered legs, ‘gaitered trousers’ and short-gaitered legs. It also has NCO arms, various officer arms, two officers (one full figure, one torso). The NCO standard bearer can also be changed into an officer if needed.

Perry Miniatures: New Plastic French Revolutionary Infantry Preview

Perry Miniatures: We have examples of the first two frames of the next plastic set in. The command frame is in tooling at the moment. The main frame has the torso/heads, legs packs and headgear. The second frame is the arm frame. As you can see the heads are attached to the torsos as this allows queues and long hair to fall over the collars naturally without compromising the tooling.

One of the main things Alan wanted to achieve was a good variation in headgear and leg and footwear as shown in so many pictures of the 1790’s, which also corresponds with the regimental records. To do this the figures are split at the waist. Breeches, with and without gaiters, civilian overalls (ragged and semi-ragged), clogs, shoes in good and bad states of repair as well as bare feet are all covered. There will be additional gaitered legs on the command frame too, if you want a bit more formality to your unit.

On the main frame two torsos have the short tailless civilian carmagnole jacket, which can be painted in the national colours or as civilian clothing. Two other torsos have civilian long tailed coats. No release date yet.

Perry Miniatures: New! French Revolution Range!

Perry Miniatures: New! French Revolution range! Alan has been busy on many ranges recently but this the first release for a new period (if you don't count the the French in Egypt!). The first batch is of course Line Infantry, march attack. These will be followed by Light Infantry. This is first small start of what will probably be a fairly hefty range! It will probably spill over into the Consulate Period in time.

Perry Miniatures: Plastic Napoleonic Peninsular War Spanish Infantry Preview

Perry Miniatures: We can now announce the new plastic set Alan has been working on…well, two sets actually! Spanish Napoleonic Infantry (1) marching and Spanish Napoleonic Infantry (2) Firing Line. Both these are from the first half of the Peninsular War….

Box (1) will allow you to build a battalion in either formal marching poses or all in enroute casual marching poses. Line Infantry, Provincial Militia, half a battalion of Grenadiers (or the first battalion) and elements of Light Infantry will all be represented in this box.

Box (2) will allow you to build a battalion in a firing line. Line Infantry, Provincial Militia, half a battalion of Grenadiers (for the 1st battalion) and Light Infantry will all be represented in this box. Shakos for the 1st Cazadores de Barcelona as well as some for the 1st Cazadores de Cataluña.

In both sets there will be a wide selection of headgear including bicornes, grenadier fur caps, shakos as bonnet de police as well as civilian headgear (the latter in Box 1). Both sets are designed to be completely compatible and can create many varied poses from units standing or marching casually, advancing formally, firing line and skirmishing.

Greatcoats, cloaks and blankets either rolled or thrown casually over knapsacks are separate to allow you to show a varied campaign look or all left off, either packed inside the knapsack or left with the baggage. More greatcoats, cloaks and blankets if you need them are on separate arms where they are thrown over muskets or shoulders.

The legwear on all the figures is varied to reflect the wear and tear of official uniforms and use of civilian items. The command frame along with the additional head frame will be sold separately when the box is released. The command frame will have two 4 figure commands (8 in all) one advancing the other standing for the firing line, so you’ll have a few spares for other things.

The Spanish head frame could be quite useful for a few things. There are 8 bicorne heads and 6 heads with French M1805 Light Infantry shakos with side plumes and lozenge shaped plates (as used by the 1st Cazadores de Cataluña). The bicorne heads could be used for other countries including French from 1805-09 as can the shakos.

The command frame is being tooled at the moment, but the first three frames are done and shown here along with a few samples. Alan has a fifth frame (which and will come out later in the year) in tooling connected with these, but that will be announced later…. Renedra have done a great job tooling these and all being well, these will be out at Salute and will be on general sale along with the command and head frames from Perry Miniatures the week after.

Perry Miniatures: Metal Price Rise Cometh!

Perry Miniatures: Metal Price Rise Cometh! I’m afraid, due to metal cost increases and general production costs, we’re going have to raise the prices on all metals on the 14th October by 50p. We’re sorry about this, but we’ve absorbed the increases for some time now and we do need to put them up.

Perry Miniatures: New Napoleonic French in Egypt Miniatures Preview

Perry Miniatures: Something for Egypt….and Europe. Here are a few shots of greens (well, resin and greens) of something Alan has been working on. Alan has been meaning to return to the Egyptian campaign for some time, adding to the French. With the Ottoman range coming on, he wanted to represent the clashes earlier in the campaign. As he was making mannequins of them in their European uniforms, which were used in the first year of the Egyptian campaign, he thought it was a no-brainer to make additional packs for Europe as well. Now, this doesn’t mean there’ll be ranges of Revolutionary War enemies, but it’s an option if he did want to dip into it. These will be metal figures.
