Icarus Miniatures: Bringing production in-house has also significantly reduced the unit cost of each miniature. Instead of taking that extra profit, I have decided that we will reduce the RRP of our miniatures. Doing this achieves a few things; firstly it makes the miniatures cheaper for you to buy, which is always good, but it also makes us more competitive in the marketplace, lowering the cost of entry for people looking to start playing The Icarus Project.

Icarus Miniatures: The Icarus Project - A New Sci Fi Skirmish Wargame Kickstarter

Icarus Miniatures has just launched their long planned The Icarus Project Kickstarter to fund the publishing of their rulebook and the creation of two miniatures startersets. The Icarus Project is a sci-fi Skirmish wargame where two or more Strike Forces do battle to help save, or destroy, the galaxy.

The Icarus Project is a science fiction skirmish wargame, set over 700 years in the future. Players take control of small groups of elite soldiers, called Strike Forces, as they try and accomplish a variety of objectives; such as assassinations, bomb disposals, or prisoner captures.

With a simple to learn core set of rules, you'll be up and playing in no time at all. While the advanced rules, special rules, and characters will give you tactical depth and a system that is easy to learn, but hard to master. We want as many people to try out the rules as possible, so are offering the rules for free. The basic rules to the game will always free, but you can pledge as little as £1 to get a full PDF of the rule book at launch, including full background on the universe and races, as well as any elements we unlock for the rule book through stretch goals.

The Icarus Project is played using groups of finely detailed resin miniatures. The Icarus Project miniatures are incredibly sharp and detailed pieces sculpted by the top talent in the industry. We are committed to world class miniatures, and as you can see below, our miniatures are very faithful to the incredible concept art. The resin we are using is premium quality; there won't be any of that hybrid material from China in sight!
