Perry Miniatures: Spreading Resin Trend?

I just found this other news from the Perry brothers concerning their 40mm range and it seems they also have been infected by the SRT (Spreading Resin Trend): "After receiving Norman Swales amazing 40mm guns I decided that we just had to produce them in resin and then I thought why not the crew too. So we are. The rest of the 40mm Peninsular War range from now on (not the existing range which will still be metal) will also be in resin. Although the price will have to go up we hope you'll find it's worth it for the quality. Although it looks and feels like hard plastic (and many people would say it is), this is actually resin. it's the perfect medium for this scale of figure. Alan"

I have never bought these 40mm miniatures as I'm not that good at painting but I think the quality of these miniatures will further improve, pitty about the price increase though. Cheers and welcome to our new follower Segnett!

Be very nice to see some resin Hundred Year War or Late 15thC stuff for skirmish games.

One can only hope!!

That's true and crossing your fingers could also help!

I don't actually mind what my figures are made out of and I can see the advantages of using resin in regard to detail... but does resin really cost that much more?

I accept that metal prices are spiralling and that latex moulds don't last long, so there is a cost factor to producing metals too, but where I've seen a switch to resin elsewhere, it's been accompanied by a considerable price increase.

Or, if a few more folk were to suggest it to Alan and Michael it may just spark their imagination.... hint.... hint....

@Jim Hale, I also though resin was much cheaper to buy and use so I also don't see the reason for the sudden price increases such as with Perry and GW.
