Warlord Games: Marlborough's Wars Starter Army Pre-Order

Warlord Games: Fought between 1701 and 1714, the War of the Spanish Succession began with a dispute between King Louis XIV of France and Emperor Leopold I of Austria about who should inherit the vacant throne of Spain. This was one of the first truly global conflicts!

This starter army is an ideal starting point for a new army or to add reinforcements to an existing force. Throughout the War of Spanish Succession the uniforms of the main protagonists on each side were largely the same with only the colour of the uniforms being the discerning factor. As such this set is just the job for French, British, Bavarian, Dutch, etc.

Starter Army includes:

Warlord Games: Project Z: Hard Plastic Spec Ops Modern Military

Wargames Illustrated: We were lucky enough to visit Warlord Games today at just the right time! As you can see below, this is a sample plastic sprue that was created by Wargames Factory of Ultramodern multipose warriors. 

These were never released prior to the deal made with Warlord Games. The idea behind the sprue is that you can use the weapons attached to the arms or the spare items to create warriors from a number of different armies, so you can use the AK74 arm and a suitable head for Russian troops, the M4 arm for US forces or the SA80 arm for UK troops for a range of theatres of operation. Warlord Games: Breaking News - Project Z - Zombie Skirmish Game and Miniatures Previewed

Just found this breaking news from Warlord Games as they are going release their own zombie miniature game supported by numerous hard-plastic miniature kits!

As announced last year, Warlord Games are working closely with Wargames Factory to exclusively distribute their plastic wargame kits worldwide. This deal gave us access to all of the dark future apocalyptic ranges featuring Zombies, Survivors and several unreleased models including a Biker gang and Special Ops military.

Picture above shows three male apocalypse survivors and one unreleased Special Ops soldier.

The team here at Warlord have been having such great fun over the past few months modelling, painting and converting models from the Zombie range that we couldn’t help ourselves but produce a whole game system, entitled Project Z!

Unlike the various boardgames on the market, Project Z is a proper tabletop skirmish wargame with freedom of movement, terrain, stat-lines, etc, etc. Packed with undead mayhem, the game is quick and fun, packed with awesome models, hordes of Zombies and buckets of dice!

Project Z is due to be available from Warlord Games in April this year supported by a complete range of plastic box sets. We plan to showcase Project Z at the Salute wargames show this year so visit us there and take a closer look!

Looking at the pictures I think I can spot some new male zombie miniatures along with the new unreleased Biker gang. Last year at Salute, I managed to take exclusive pictures of the Biker gang sprue when they were still being designed by Wargames Factory. I have added a picture here but more details and pictures can be found in this older post here.

In the past I have also reviewed the Wargames Factory male and female apocalypse survivors and their zombie vixens. As these miniature will form the bulk of the plastic miniature range of Project Z, you could check out our thorough and fully illustrated reviews along with useful scale comparisons.

However we know lots of you are keen to get your hands on these models, and since we already have a limited number of certain sprues sitting in our stock room, we decided to make them available to tide you over until they are revisited at a later date. All these plastic frames come fantastically detailed with a great assortment of pieces to make up your models in the equipment and style of your choice:

Warlord Games: Wargames Factory Partnership Update - Exclusive Post-Apoc Biker Sprues Preview

Warlord Games: As you know we have recently entered into partnership with Wargames Factory to exclusively distribute their plastic wargames kits worldwide.

We have been hard at work producing new box artwork to bring the packaging in line with our existing brands, having the models painted by our talented figure painters and, where necessary, having flags produced for inclusion in those sets. We are also working with Wargames Factory to modify some of the plastic tools to make them more fit for purpose by either amalgamating many smaller sprues into the larger sprues our customers are used to or in some cases altering the mix of components on some sprues to give more models per frame – we want you to have the best possible products!

All of this takes time considering the wide range of boxed sets we will be distributing. In November we re-released the first plastics with three new products for the American War of Independence – British and Continental starter armies and our massive Liberty or Death! Battle-set. Six individual boxed sets for this range will be released early in 2016 including two brand new sets – Hessians and Artillery.

We plan to release all if the sets as fast as possible given the above changes. With the AWI range released we next turn our attention to the War of Spanish Succession and to the various Zombie Apocalypse sets (including some completely new sets and some surprises!).
