Pig Iron Productions: Hi guys just a quick note to hopefully cover your questions, Simon and Lisa have sold Pig Iron to us Alex and Helen.

The ranges are intact and will be available to purchase when the webstore becomes active fingers crossed in the next few days. We will be restocked by the end of April. Simon will not be sculpting for us but we plan to keep the same feel and quality of miniatures going. There will be some new models coming soon, vehicles to add to the Near Future range (by the end of April). Pig Iron Miniatures: Closing Wargame Business - End of March

Pig Iron Miniatures: After much deliberation and soul searching both myself and Lisa have decided to close down Pig Iron at the end of March 2016. 

We've been wrestling with this decision for many, many months but the constant pressure of running two businesses at the same time has taken its toll on us both and we feel its time, after nearly fifteen years, to take a step back and live a more 'normal' and relaxed life. On top of the business side of things we’ve both felt the need to explore other areas outside of the gaming industry but the constant 'background noise' of Pig Iron has always taken priority.

Wargaming, sculpting, painting and scenery making will still play an important part of our lives so we’ll be keeping the Facebook site open to keep in touch with the wider gaming world. Moving forward, it would be a shame for the miniatures to disappear and we’re currently exploring ways of keeping the ranges going with other parties and we’ll keep you updated on any developments over the next month or so. All current and new orders will be fulfilled until we close the webstore down but we won’t be getting any more stock from Griffin Moulds. Pig Iron Productions: New Modular Irregular Near Future Miniatures

Just found these from Pig Iron Productions: Before these go on the main site next week, here's preview of our latest Near Future sprues. These sprues will allow you to create irregular style figs that can be used for all sorts or paramilitary, insurgents, militia, gangers, mobsters etc. The legs are a combination of jeans, tracksuits and fatigues with a mix of military boots, hiking boots and trainers. The bodies have a mix of body armour and jackets, with assault rifles and pistols. All on the rubble sprue for base decoration.

The hooded heads speak for themselves, but you could also use them on the regular troops for black ops style figs. Also, the mercenary heads work a treat on these figs. More irregular NF stuff coming soon plus some weirder NF stuff that I've been working on in secret.

Pig Iron: Excellent modular near-future troopers

Hi, I just found this amazing release from Pig Iron and decided to share these gorgeous miniatures here: "This weekend at Warfare sees the launch of the first packs of our 28mm Near Future range. These will be available from the Tablescape stand along with our other products. The first release is a selection of sprues that enable you to build squads of well equipped troops complete with assault weapons, saw's and anti-tank missiles. They have been designed as next generation infantry that could be used to represent any nations armed security forces."

"The sprues are split into separate torsos, legs and heads that give you endless combinations of poses. As usual the sprues have been modelled into scenic rubble which can be used to decorate your bases and are all available separately. They have been designed to work with our Kolony sprues and fit nicely with 'heroic scaled' plastic figures which will please all the converters out there."

I like this release because these parts can easily be used to convert other miniatures from different companies such as GW, Defiance Games and Wargames Factory. I also like the idea of sculpting sprues as rubble piles so you can further enchance your bases without an additionnal cost and it's ecological!
