We are The Laser Terrain Company (Laser Terrain Co.) – Founded by Evan with support from Matthew and Aidan, we are the team behind a new venture in Laser Cut Plastic Terrain.

The Laser Terrain System - Our first system is a Sci-Fi/Futuristic interior system. Each piece is laser cut and laser etched with a ready-to-play finish, requiring minimal assembly. The base of the core pieces is made from a special bespoke acrylic that allows for the detail to be lit up using our optional bespoke lighting kits. The system is modular and interlocking, thus allowing for quick and precise terrain layouts regardless of the scenario. 

Brief History - Evan set out to explore his ideas for improving tabletop terrain with a desire for better materials, lighting and a ready-to-play finish. After hundreds of hours of designing, prototyping and testing, the Laser Terrain System is ready to launch. 

Brief Plan - We have the designs and manufacturing process ready. We will be making the terrain ourselves in our workshop with our newly updated laser cutting equipment. If we make our target amount, we will be able to order a large enough quantity of the bespoke acrylic we use, to make the system affordable. Once we receive our materials we will begin manufacturing and soon afterwards begin shipping.

Laser Terrain Co: Producing Science Fiction Laser Cut, Light Up, Tabletop Terrain

I recently stumbled up a new company named Laser Terrain Co which is aiming to produce laser cut, light up tabletop terrain suitable for science fiction games.

About Laser Terrain Co. 

Laser Terrain Co was setup by Evan Phillips to explore his ideas for improving tabletop wargames terrain. Evan started from a desire for better materials, lighting and a ready-to-play finish out of the box, and after hundreds of hours of designing, prototyping and testing, the first pieces of the new Laser Terrain system are ready for the gaming community.  

Laser Terrain Co is a UK registered company based in Bristol. Manufacturing, sales, distribution and support will all be undertaken from our UK base of operations.  Laser Terrain Co’s products aim to be immersive, innovative and exciting. Our first terrain system is made for 28-32mm scale miniatures and will be made from high a special custom acrylic and coated plastics. All our pieces are laser cut with laser engraving to bring out the design detail. 

Laser Terrain Co’s founder and designer, Evan, has extensive experience as a costume fabricator and prop maker in the film and TV industry working on films and shows including Hot Fuzz, The Harry Potter series, Fury, Guardians of the Galaxy, Maleficent, Thor 2 and Game of Thrones to name but a few. Evan has now brought that wealth of experience and talent back to his passion for tabletop games and wargames terrain. 

Product specifics 

Our first system is an interior environment for 28-32mm game systems. At launch, the first system will consist of a set of core pieces. The range will be added to, soon after launch to give yet further options for game play. The core pieces are the Cross section, T-Junction, Corner and Straight corridor. 

The pieces of the system interlock via a simple jigsaw design and can be configure quickly and precisely into an environment suitable for any appropriate scenario due to the modular nature of the whole system. We will offer a black and a white set. The black set comes with white interior and brushed aluminium plastic exterior walls, whilst the white set comes with brushed aluminium plastic interior and white exterior walls. The interior and exterior walls have laser etched detailing, giving each piece a ready-to-play finish, out of the box. 

Each piece is laser cut and laser engraved. The floor components are made from a custom acrylic, which allows for the floor detail to become lit up with our bespoke optional lighting kits. The optional light kits are specially made from a thin flexible material and are battery powered. Each lighting kit is specifically designed to provide a consistent, even lighting, across each base piece.
