Jay Wiley Design: New Fistful of Lead: Starfighters! Rules

Jaye Wiley Design: Fistful of Lead fans asked for a space fighter game and here it is - Fistful of Lead: Starfighters! As with previous Fistful of Lead rules each player only needs 5 or 6 fighters to start gaming.  You can play 1-on-1 games or larger skirmishes with up to 6 or 8 players. In playtest, we had a 10 player game with 50 ships on a 8' x 6' table and played in 2 1/2 hours.

This book contains rules for building your flight and how to set up different scenarios.  A few genre options are provided to get you started as well as some rules for taking it up in scale and using Fleet ships.  Most players of any age will pick up the game mechanics quickly, even those who have never played a wargame before.

Starfighers! was not meant with any particular miniature line in mind.  You can use whatever miniature space ships you have.  There are many popular lines out there to choose from and some are very affordable on discount sites. This IS NOT a theoretical recreation of fighter on fighter space combat, but rather a Hollywood take on dogfighting in the dark depths of space. This IS a great way to spend an hour or two having fun with your friends, playing with spaceships and yelling "PEW! PEW! PEW!" Available here

Jaye Wiley Design: Fistful of Lead: Core Rulebook Release

Jaye Wiley Design: The long awaited Core Rule Book from Wiley Games, makers of Fistful of Lead, is finally here. Grab your own copy now here

The long-time favorite Fistful of Lead started as a Wild West game with card-driven mechanics that created Hollywood action.  Now Wiley Games presents the Core Rule Book.  The Core Rule Book can be used with multiple periods and genres, while still giving you the unique card driven mechanics that keep the action going.

We here at Wiley Games love skirmish level wargaming, because we can play new periods or genres without huge commitments of time and money.  In most games, each player can control up to 5-6 miniatures without much trouble. Games can have up to 8 players without slowing down the game. Now, you can dig out all your old miniatures gathering dust and have a game ready to go in a few minutes.

That's why Fistful of Lead Core Rules are so great.  Once you have these rules, the possibilities are endless. Wiley Games plans to release supplements for all the genres and periods you've had your eye on.  If you are new to Wiley Games Fistful of Lead, this is where your journey begins.  If you are a longtime fan, the future is here. The very first supplement to The Core Rule Book is Tales of Horror.  Gothic lovers rejoice! Experienced wargamers and new players alike will enjoy this game. It's perfect for convention games and just one on one skirmishes.

Jaye Wiley Design: Galactic Heroes Kickstarter Fully Funded

Jaye Wiley Design: Wiley Games is proud to announce their Kickstarter campaign, Fistful of Lead: Galactic Heroes, is fully funded and still going. Check the Kickstarter here

In Galactic Heroes, or GH for short, you’ll take on the role of a Hero or Villain, leading a scruffy pirate crew looking for adventure, or maybe a troop of faceless soldiers of the Empire in search of bringing order to the galaxy. It’s really up to you! Galactic Heroes allows you to play a small-scale wargame in the far-flung future, a galaxy, far, far away, a grim, dark future 40,000 years from now, or a certain Red Planet where swords and ray guns reign supreme. Whatever you think Sci-Fi looks like, from your favorite Space Opera to gritty Pulp epic.

Like all the Fistful of Lead games, you’ll only need 5 or 6 miniatures per player. You can play 1-on-1 games or larger skirmishes with up to 6 or 8 players. Galactic Heroes can be played with whatever miniatures you already have in your lead pile. These rules contain all the information you need to play a game, including rules for building your forces and how to set up the table for different scenarios. Most players will pick up the game mechanics quickly, even people who haven’t played a wargame before. The rules can be learned in a couple of turns, and the fast-paced game play keeps everyone engaged.

What separates Galactic Heroes from most tabletop miniature games on the market, is the unique card driven turn mechanism. This leads to snap decisions and tense moments where all the players are involved. The play is fast and furious, with a Hollywood flair, while record keeping is kept to a minimum. The original Fistful of Lead has been around for a decade with a small, but loyal fan base. Galactic Heroes expands the line of western gunfight rules into outer space, because what else is a good sci-fi movie other than a western set in space?

Jaye Wiley Design: Fistful of Lead: Reloaded Wild West Rules Kickstarter

Jaye Wiley Design: As the title says, Fistful of Lead: Reloaded was designed as a quick set of tabletop miniature wargame rules for gunfights in the Wild West.

The rules can be learned within a couple of turns, but still keep the flavor of the period. What separates Fistful of Lead: Reloaded from most tabletop miniature games on the market, is the unique card driven turn mechanism. This leads to snap decisions and tense moments where all the players are involved. Play is fast and furious, with a Hollywood flair to it. Record keeping is kept to a bare minimum.

Fistful of Lead has been around for over a decade with a small, but loyal fan base. The Reloaded version has left the core rules intact while adding more scenarios, more examples of play, some house rules that have brewed up over the years, and a simple campaign system.
