Victrix: Plastic 28mm World War One Infantry Announced!

Victrix has just announced this wonderful news and luckily just in time for the World War One centennial! Next we have a bit of a 28mm WW1 surprise for you! WW1 British and Germans are being worked on at present for a dual release followed by heavy weapons and characters and then followed by French. Julian has been pushing for this period for a long time (since we began 6 years ago I think!) Bob is doing a lovely job on these. This is just a teaser to wet the appetite so a few more images next week. Keep watching for updates of this exciting new period for us. And remember you heard this great news first from Wargame News and Terrain, your wargame news partner!

Excellent news for me, terrible news for my bank account.

Common dilemma Matt, but I'm sure it will still be better than purchasing the same amount of them in metal so double win!

I have been postphoning doing a World War One project in 20mm but with these cheap 28mm alternatives, I will surely go that route!

Cheers

Good point, well made. Does that mean I can now buy two boxes instead of just the one? ;)

Probably three just to make sure, you have enough of them to fill your storage! :)

Having quality plastics in 28mm for any era makes it more affordable but I wonder if they are going to do early war versions as well (after all its the centenary of 1914!) as there are considerable differences in the headgear at least for all armies - soft v tin hats for British, picklehaube v coalscuttle for Germans etc.

I think they will first of all do the mid-later war period and then maybe followed by the early period if the interest is high enough.

Good choice as most of the wargamers probably want to recreate the larger engagements and the trench warfare depicting the mid-late period.

Cheers

Well safe to say that 28mm WW1 from victrix is off the table.

Heck in 2017 they even had a plan for 28mm ww2!

(sorry for the really late comment, I wanted to make sure I wasn't have some weird fever dream that victrix was looking into doing the WW's outside their 12mm range)
