Mantic Games: The Summer of Kings of War has so far seen 16 new units released giving the game a tremendous boost in the miniatures department. To finish this epic string of releases, we’re bringing out a brand new faction: The Basileans!! The Basileans are our first human army and a devout force of good. With shining lances and gleaming armour they go into battle alongside the Angelic forces of the Celestians, ready to battle against the denizens of the Abyss and any who threaten their borders.

This is the largest Kings of War release in one month ever, with a new book, 4 infantry kits, 2 Cavalry sets, a chariot and 4 supporting metal heroes. Over the next couple of weeks we’re going to be exploring the Basileans on the blog in detail, looking at everything from their concept art and background to how they fight on the battlefield. You can already check out all of the model previews on the blog, plus we’ve still got Berosos, Crossbowmen and Men-at-Arms Command to come – so much stuff, so little time!

I really like the Panther Lancers. I can see using them for light cavalry in another game We will not name.
