Perry Miniatures: New Wave of Napoleonic French

Perry Miniatures announces: With these new figures, the French Napoleonic range can now be extended back to 1805, something I never got around to when working for Foundry, but always meant to.It was not until November 1809 that General Suchet recorded 'the medley is over, no more hats, no more white coats'. The bicorned figures also all have cropped hair - "a la Titus" - which began to become fashionable in some corps in 1805. So these can be used between 1805 to 1809.

The look of the Retreat from Moscow figures is taken straight from the soldier/artist on the campaign, Major Faber du Faur. Aly Morrison also used his paintings as a guide to the colors when painting them… and what a nice job he's done. (As has Dave Jarvis on the bicorned fusiliers!).

The figures in bicornes can be used from 1805, as this is when short hair and the greatcoat began to become commonplace. The bicornes were supposed to have been replaced in 1807, but they seemed to linger in some units until 1809.
