Mongoose: Traveller Field Catalogue - SciFi Adventures!

Mongoose: The Field Catalogue presents a selection of weaponry and equipment to suit all budgets and requirements, from handguns to grav tanks, from boots to starships. For those wanting something special the weapon design system puts custom firepower in the hands of your mercenaries. Balance knockdown power against armour penetration and magazine capacity; magazine capacity against the ability to get a shot on target before the opposition fires back.

This book also has rules for situations the average Traveller never encounters: chemical warfare, standoff missile attacks, artillery bombardment and manoeuvring under fire on a low-gravity planetoid. Among the force-multipliers and problem solvers in the Field Catalogue are distraction grenades, auto-hacking intrusion devices and thermal concealment coverings. Personal weaponry ranges from the ubiquitous ‘Mark 1’ handgun to top-end gauss sniping weapons. For those with a bigger budget, the Field Catalogue presents a range of vehicles with options packages. The basic Negav 10-wheel truck is a humble logistics vehicle, but for a few thousand Credits more it can become a mobile headquarters or improvised ground assault platform. The S-series grav platform can transport troops to the battle area or provide support with its autocannon and Blackjack gun/missile system. The very richest commanders can travel in style aboard the Gravitas skiff or take command of a Shadow gunship for more direct action. Grab this best-selling title now here

Warlord Games: Breaking News - 2000 AD Publishing Miniature, Scenery and Miniature Game Licence Acquired

Warlord Games: Warlord Games is to produce a new line of miniatures and games based on the legendary British comic book, 2000 AD.

The worldwide licence covers miniatures games, scenery and collectable miniatures sets based on series and characters from weekly comic, which is the home of Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Nemesis the Warlock, and a whole galaxy of characters from over 40 years. Game development and designs are in the very early stages but initial plans are for a game based on the world of Strontium Dog, the popular futuristic Wild West-style series where mutated humans such as Johnny Alpha are forced to become bounty hunters.

Paul Sawyer, Head of Product Design at Warlord Games, says “Many of us at Warlord are ardent 2000 AD fans so the chance to take on a licence to work with the stories we grew up with and continue to avidly enjoy was something of a dream come true. We have many ideas to bring the wonderful stories from our favourite strips – old and new – to the tabletop and work had begun in earnest to do justice (pun intended) to Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Flesh, Slaine, Kingdom and many of their sister strips. If a mere Earthlet might dare to quote The Mighty Tharg, this is going to be scrotnig!”. Keith Richardson, licensing manager for 2000 AD, said: “Knowing how many of the Warlord staff are fans of 2000 AD and seeing the wonderful craftsmanship in their work has me really excited. Together I’m positive that we will produce some truly zarjaz games!”

Warlord Games is a leading light in the tabletop miniature games industry. Warlord is currently developing games and miniatures for Doctor Who through licence from the BBC and has its own science fiction game written by legendary games developer, Rick Priestley – Beyond the Gates of Antares. Warlord has many game systems based on military history – from the award-winning World War II game produced in conjunction with Osprey Publishing – Bolt Action, to its massed battle games – Hail Caesar, Pike & Shotte and Black Powder.

2000 AD is the legendary weekly British anthology comic and home of Judge Dredd, as well as a galaxy of original sci-fi, fantasy, and horror action stars. As well as producing innovative and provocative comics for almost 40 years, it has brought the industry some of its biggest talents, from Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, and Mark Millar, to Jock, Brian Bolland, Dave Gibbons, and many more. Published in print and digital every Wednesday, 2000 AD is the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic and remains at the industry’s cutting edge.

Mongoose Publishing: 2000AD - Judge Dredd Miniature Game License Dropped

Mongoose Publishing announced that they have dropped the license of the 2000AD - Judge Dredd franchise on which their Judge Dredd miniature skirmish game was based

From Matt over at Mongoose Publishing: As some of you have noted, we have passed on the 2000AD licence - however, this does not affect the Kickstarter projects in any way. You will all get the miniatures you are after. All the miniatures have been sculpted/prototyped, and are now with the casters (Warlord and Ainsty) to be cast up - we are expecting Ainsty to finish the Pat Wagons, well, any time now, and Warlord are predicting early next year to complete their metals.

As soon as the last Pat Wagons are with us, we will do an update that lists everything that has been sent out thus far, so you can run your own checklists and find out if anything has gone awry in the post - anything that has gone missing will be replaced immediately if we have it in stock, or early next year with Warlord's last castings if not. We have removed the Judge Dredd miniatures from our web site, as we have several out of stock items already. However, they are still available from Warlord, and will continue to be so until the end of November (with a good discount too!) Edit most of the Warlord Games stock is gone ...

Warlord Games: New Judge Dredd Brit Cit Judges

Warlord Games: The Brit-Cit Justice Department, officially referred to as Her Majesty’s Justice Department (HMJD), maintains Law and order in and around Brit-Cit.

The Judges of Brit-Cit share much in common with their counterparts in Mega-City One, having similar uniforms and close diplomatic ties. However, Brit-Cit Judges are more lenient in their approach to crime and spend as much time buried in paperwork as they do patrolling the streets of their sector. A force of Brit-Cit Judges will be very well equipped and able to handle most situations – the set contains a range of Judges including a psi-judge and a detective.

Warlord Games: New Judge Dredd - The Justice Department - Banshee Interceptor

Warlord Games: When gangs acquire fast cars, usually by stealing or car-jacking them, only one vehicle is fast enough to take them down. Of all the Justice Department’s land vehicles, none is as fast as the Banshee Interceptor. Utilised by highly trained members of the Pursuit Squad, these lightning fast vehicles patrol up and down the Megways of Mega City One.

Mongoose Publishing: New Victrix Ancient Skirmish Rules: Warriors of Antiquity

Mongoose Publishing: New Mongoose game just announced by Victrix - Warriors of Antiquity, covering skirmishes in the Ancient World.

We are also running 2 participation games (during Salute) using our forth coming "Warriors of Antiquity" rules. Warriors of Antiquity is a fast play set of rules based on warbands in the ancient world. It is an action packed and a very bloody game that suits gamers who like to manage a game in a relatively short space of time on a moderately sized table (4 foot x 4 foot is more than adequate). It is not designed to re-enact Cannae but if you want a fast play game using warbands of up to 60 figures featuring scenarios such as slave and cattle raids, ambushes, looting etc this is the game for you.

Units are points based and much of the fun is deciding the make up of your warband. Will you use your finances to buy a few heavily armoured Hoplites or Legionaries or have a more numerous warband based on lightly armoured archers and javelin men. You will also want to think about investing in good leaders or even a hero but remember these do not come cheap. To add an even more exciting layer you can customise individual figures with particular weapons and equipment. Come and have a game at Salute 2015 and get a flavour for this exciting new rule system.

Warlord Games: New Judge Dredd Mega-City One Civilians Released

Warlord Games: Mega-City One has a far greater population density than any city in the present-day world. Most city dwellers (citizens) live in huge apartment blocks (50,000+), though many citizens live a perpetually nomadic existence in vehicular mo-pads (mobile homes) due to inadequate housing provisions. Due to the high unemployment rate, boredom is rife among citizens.
