Miniature Mojo: New Medieval Wild Winter Range

Miniature Mojo: Another winter project that I have on the go, provisionally entitled Wild Winter. It's sort of a pulp-Arthurian re-imagination of late Dark Ages to Late Medieval history, set 'in the north'. It is otherwise a fantasy and magic-free zone! Some might see a cross over with GoT but bigger influences are actually the snow-based scenes and pulp-Vikings in movies such as Arthur and The Island At The Top Of The World.

I will have two factions. The pulp-Arthurians - the defenders of the wall and all that is decent (as they see it anyways). They will be derived from the forthcoming Perry 100 Years War plastics with a bit of WotR throne in. The snow-bound north is not home to them but is a place of duty. Their adversaries will be the Mathan Sluagh - which, if I have got it right, is Scottish Gaelic meaning Bear People. A nomadic, bear-hunting tribe that lives in the mountains to the north: they are tenacious, resilient, ferocious and clad in furs and skins. They have limited technical and agricultural resources (there's is a harsh environment) so they raid south for tools, cereals and other useful goods).

I am making the Mathan Sluagh myself, probably as two packs of male and one of female, each with four multipart figures. I've made headway with the first pack of males, which comprises:

- Legs & torso x 4

- Arm & weapon sets x 4

- Heads x 4

- Shields (optional) x 4

I still have quite a lot to do, though the next step will be to release the arms from the wires and re-jig them to ensure that all 4 sets work with the various bodies. Re-jigging the arms is likely to require padding out of the upper torsos.

Miniature Mojo: More Modern ICE Troopers and Arctic Patrol Miniatures

Miniatures Mojo: As far as SSS goes, the sculpting mostly relates to prepping greens for mould making though I have now pretty much done the masters for the snow shoe, ski, ski pole and riot shield, with the LMG and a Fritz helmet also almost complete. In latest news then, 8 greens that are a new addition to the range, the Arctic Patrol with British Helmets and assault rifles (2 with LSWs). 

These will be available as singles and in 2 packs of 4 (comprising 3 SA80s and 1 LSW). Also by Whiff Whaff (and as a recap as I have fallen behind) are two more ICE Troopers, the flamer and the sniper. These will only be available as singles for a while but in due course will go into a 4 pack with 2 LMGs, as a support weapons set.

Miniature Mojo: I now have the bits for the 3 figure set of multipart shamblers (infected/zombies) and so here's a shot of another assembly. The parts are all interchangeable with the multipart set of ragers (see metal parts) and so here are the components of the two kits side by side.

Miniature Mojo: More minis are in the mould making and casting queues. More minis have been commissioned and a rules update and supplement moving forward. But for now, a sneak peak of an assembly from our forthcoming three figure pack of multipart Shamblers. 

Miniature Mojo: New ICE Troopers Released

Miniature Mojo: The ICE troopers have been added to the store. The Infection Control & Elimination troopers will man an enclave/outpost and are tasked with limiting the spread of the infection (virus). To this end, these faceless operatives are tasked with eliminating the zombies and controlling the movement south (or north if you're down under!) of the survivors. 

They are the men of the wall (Game of Thrones), they are the seventh cavalry (1960s era westerns). As urban warfare and close combat specialists they are armed with SMGs and short swords. They are also adept at and equipped for cold weather survival. Presently there are eight 28mm minis, priced at £7.99 for a pack of 4 or £2.29 each.

Miniature Mojo: Plastic Vacuum Modern Buildings

Miniature Mojo: The basic building pack for a 3-sided house that is fully accessible from the rear, comprising 8 pieces of plasticard (3 exterior walls, 3 roof sections, 2 internals including cupboards and stairs ) will be £9.99. Single sheet conversion pieces (such as the store shelving etc) and extras (such as pavements) will be £1.39 each. They'll also be an option to order specific sheets as extras, which will delay the order as they'll be formed on demand but they'll also be £1.39 each. Comprehensive instructions for the house will be available as a free PDF. Don't forget though that some modelling ability will be required plus an inner core (5mm foamboard is suggested) for the plasticard facades to be attached to. Oh, and coffee stirrers (craft sticks) will also be needed, if a plank floor is desired. They'll be in store very soon, just need to sort them and list them.

Miniature Mojo: Upcoming Cannines Size Comparison

Miniature Mojo: The canines have arrived and they really are excellent! For scale, here's a quick shot showing the wolves alongside a couple of our minis.  I shall probably mould them next week. I'm just finishing some mixed weapon sprues and some furniture (table, chairs, armchair) so will mould and cast all (and correct any low stock levels) at the same time.

Miniature Mojo: Multi-Part Rager Zombies Preview!

Miniature Mojo: The first look see at the first of our zombies... Ok, not actually zombies but recently infected ragers who have yet to show much deterioration but have a whole lot of flesh hungry anger. It's a multipart set comprising four heads, three torsos, three left arms, three right arms and three pairs of legs which if I've worked it out correctly - and I won't know til I get my hands on them - will provide 21 different combinations. Presently wip but you get the idea:

The zombie supplement to Scavenge Skirmish Survive has yet to be released but is entitled Z-Z-Zombie (say that with chattering teeth!). The game will also include shamblers, who will be thinner, worn, contorted, etc

A few that require some assembly, the hand with bill hook and the two crossbow heads all require fitting. If I have a chance later I'll add some shots of he two multiparts as either option..... And maybe the weapon sprues and sledge as well.

Miniature Mojo: Some more images of greens from Adam Gayford (sculptor). With 16 released and another 8 greens shown we are on 24 characters with another 8 presently being sculpted. First up, two guys with revolvers:

And a couple of with iron-sight rifles, showing the differences in lengths to signify smaller calibre and larger calibre (though the longer one could be trimmed a tad shorter).

For the rest of phase 2, there'll be a couple more rifles, some crossbows, a couple of kids and a couple with optional weapons (MP5 and PA shotgun).
