That never happened. They're not perfect – we had criticism about the Confederate hats and some of the poses. Also, the plastic is not rigid. But they don't look at all bad and you get 20 for £5.00 GBP….! There's 2 sets – Confederate and Union.

EM4 miniatures: cheap plastic ACW infantry!

Hi, I just this interested news from EM4 Miniatures and to be honest I like the idea of extremely cheap plastic like ACW miniatures just to bulk out battalions or do some old school wargaming using catapults! Not sure when they will be released but they look promising, pitty there are no pictures of unpainted miniatures.

"A little background. We had these sculpted and tooled 4 or 5 years ago. They were intended to be sold painted at a very competitive price. However the arrival of high quality, hard-plastic figures just as we were about to go to production made us stop the project. Why? Simply because these were in pvc – the nature of the tool means they can't be made in hard-plastic – and hadn't got the detail of the new (at the time) hard-plastic releases. Now I'm thinking that they may have a future as competitively priced, UNPAINTED figures. Each bag would have 20 figures as shown in the photos. All figures could be used for either side. Price would be as I mentioned above, about £5.00 GBP for a bag of 20. Size is 28mm."
