Victrix: New Plastic Ancient Horse Archers Preview!

Victrix: Here’s a sneak peek of our upcoming set, Ancient Horse Archers. This range of miniatures aims to be one of our most dynamic yet… this render is the first of many. The miniatures we are working on will be a 12 figure Horse archers set with head options to make them as Scythians or Parthians.

The Scythians were a Nomadic people that ranged over the Eurasian steppes and fought themselves, Persians, Greeks, Macedonians, Thracians etc… and also fought as mercenaries for virtually everybody! They used a powerful composite bow and were expert horsemen. The Parthians started their incursions in the Middle east around the 3rd century BC and became the dominant people, replacing the failing Seleucid Empire. They primarily used hordes of horse archers to weaken their enemies then closed with cataphract cavalry. The set will include many arm and body poses. The torsos will be separate so you can have archers firing behind representing the famous Parthian shot. There will be plenty of head options to show all the headwear used by these peoples and also the various styles of bow case and quivers, swords and axes to really give as accurate a historical representation as possible. More images coming soon…
