Victrix: Persian Armoured Archers - Here we have some photos of the Persian Armoured Archers pieced together. The detail is sharp and crisp as you have come to expect from Victrix us. We are really happy with the results.
We have included a few construction notes on the images as there are some specific fit and placements on these figures. The arm holding half an arrow should not be confused with holding a broken arrow. This is deliberately this way so as to look like it is being pulled from the arrow quiver. Against what you would think would be the more natural placement of quivers on the right hip, the Persians tended to wear it on the back of the hips and would reach around the back to pull arrows. We have included some arrows stuck in the ground however as expert archers can use these for rapid fire. When firing an arrow the arrow should rest on the outside of the hand and not the inside on the thumb. This is a common mistake. The bow would be slightly tilted and not straight to prevent the arrow from falling off the hand. These can be used as Early or Late Achaemenid Persian archers. If Early, they would most likely fight in close order firing from behind a wall of protective Spara. If Later Achaemenid they would represent some peoples like the Mardii or Uxii.
