Victrix: New Plastic British Household Cavalry Preview

Victrix: Household Cavalry Renders - Here are the renders for the British Household cavalry set complete. This set is representing the 1st and 2nd Life Guards and Royal Horse Guards in 1815. We have gone for a very dynamic look to these miniatures to really try and convey the ferocity of charging cavalry.

Whilst the uniform is very similar to the British line Dragoon regiments there are some noticeable differences. The Helmet crest is different being a woollen crest and not a long flowing horse hair crest. The front of the jacket is different as it does not have the vertical lace up the front but has a simple row of buttons up the Collet.

Cuffs are different on the household cavalry, a straight cuff with bars of lace, unlike the Line regiments which would have had a cuff in a chevron pattern. There is dispute as to whether Regiments wore long Gauntlets or smaller gloves with cuffs showing? We have gone for the none Gauntlet look here so as to show the cuffs, but you can swap these arms with the previous Dragoon arms which have the long gauntlets. Notice on the Sabretache that there is a star embossed on it for the Life Guards. The Horse Guards did not have this decoration so it can easily be sliced off with a scalpel.

We are moving on to the British dragoons as they appeared in the Peninsula up to 1812/1813 in Bicorns. The uniform again is different in having horizontal lace across the front and shoulder wings. There will be two option for sword scabbard alone and sword scabbard and sabretache combined. The Heavy cavalry did not adopt the sabretache until 1812. There will also be arms with cuff variants to represent the Kings German Legion heavy dragoons. We should start seeing some renders in a couple of weeks.
