The Drowned Earth - Kickstarter Going Strong - Oviraptors Almost Unlocked!

James Baldwin of The Drowned Earth has published the offcial Kickstarter announcement sharing the unlocked stretch goals and other cool projects! Still plenty of time to get involved here

Well first off guys, let me say how amazed and thrilled I am to see the game get such a fantastic reception. In the first 24 hours we've unlocked all the factions and the rulebook! If you want to secure your physical copy of the rulebook (which will have fluff, scenarios and other cool stuff) don't forget you can update your pledge right now! We're only a shave away from unlocking our next goal, so lets learn a little bit more about them!

The Oviraptors

Dino models like these can be used with any faction, and will be cheaper than average characters, by around 50%. Therefore they present some list building opportunities, and bring tactical options to factions who might lack them (or wish to min-max on what they're good at!). 

So, the Oviraptors: Have no ranged capability, Are vicious in close combat, Are medium speed. Are harder than average to hit with ranged weapons, So they present a rather good threat vector with which to distract and intimidate your opponent, while your main dudes go after the objectives! They are very useful for factions like the Militia and Artifacters who are poorer than average in Close Combat.

I'm really excited about this, and I think you guys are going to love it! Wednesday will be the first part of this ongoing narrative event. This is how it works:  I will post up a snippet of a short story, which ends on a question or cliffhanger of some kind. At the end of each snippet will be a link to a poll, giving you various choices. The majority choices made by you, the backers, will determine which way the story goes. even more exciting: The decisions you make will actually guide and craft the character- gender, species, weapon load outs, characteristics... everything. At the end of the campaign we will actually make and release this miniature in to The Drowned Earth range!

Is that the coolest part?  No, that's not the coolest part. The coolest part is that every backer who pledged at the Ankle Deep pledge or above will get this model absolutely free, as a thank you for your support.  Now, lets really get this ball rolling!
