World's End Publishing: New This is Not a Test - Mutant Cannibals Supplement Discounted

World's End Publishing: Just in time for Halloween, the Mutant Cannibals supplement adds a ghoulish new twist to your games of This Is Not a Test.

This supplement fully re-introduces the terrible mutant cannibal family as a fully playable warband, as well as a host of extra material. Beyond game rules, the supplement also features gorgeous full color art work by Dario Jelusic and dynamic photography by Dave Taylor Miniatures

Mutant Cannibal Warband

The mutant cannibals are a nightmare come true. Living in twisted family clans, they raid wasteland settlements and seek the flesh of their foes. Led by the matriarch or the patriarch of the family, a host of gruesome family members are at your command. Whether it’s the deceptively lovely Petunia, the simple, but gargantuan Tiny, or even the blood-crazed psychos who hold torture as an art form. The cannibal mutant warband also feature the ability to access to wasteland critters such a great rats, rad roaches, or the powerful psychic husk.

Access the Cannibal Armory

The mutant cannibals bring with them an array of deadly weaponry and deviant equipment. With everything from new vicious close combat weapons, to guns that literally boil the enemy alive with blood, and armor made out of the skin of their poor victims, the armory in this supplement is a true terror to behold. But don’t lose all hope, other warbands can also use most of these weapons!

New Scenarios

Finally this supplement introduces two new scenarios: The Night Has Eyes and Snack Attack. Favoring the mutants chosen form of attack, these night raids feature the two most common cannibal themes, attacking your enemy while they sleep and raiding a settlement for a little nourishment. Of course these scenarios are definitely playable by other warbands and don’t necessarily have to be about blood and guts, but why would you want that?

Key Features:

  • Detailed history of the cannibal clans
  • Fully playable Mutant Cannibal warband
  • Wasteland Critters as available warband members
  • 16 new weapons, armor, grenades, and equipment
  • Two new scenarios: Snack Attack and The Night Has Eyes
  • Full color art by Dario Jelusic
  • Dynamic photography by Dave Taylor Miniatures

World 's End Publishing: This Is Not a Test Official Press Release – We go live Today!

World's End Publishing: World’s End Publishing is a company with a simple mission; to design fun wargaming rules. It is our view that miniature rulesets can be more than just a collection of stats and charts. They should be evocative of their genre, but simple with just enough rules crunch to satisfy. We are proud to announce that after three years of hard work we are now ready to officially publish our first game: This Is Not a Test, a 28mm post-apocalyptic skirmish wargame.

On May 2, 2015 we officially go live. Our online store will open and This Is Not a Test and an accompanying line of miniatures will be released and available for purchase from the World’s End Publishing website. This Is Not a Test will also be available from Wargames Vault.

This Is Not a Test – Post Apocalypse Skirmish Rules – The Rulebook

 From the Back Cover:

The great armed conflict known as the End War ravaged the world for years but came to its devastating conclusion in just seconds. In the aftermath of the nuclear attacks, remembered as the Great Fall, the United States was left a scarred wasteland. Millions died, polite society collapsed and scientific knowledge was lost in a forest of mushroom clouds.

But hey, it’s not all bad.

You and your fellow survivors live in the Tri-State Wasteland, an unforgiving land of mutants, lost technology and as much opportunity as danger. In this new world anyone can make their own destiny. But it’s not easy and you better have grit, cunning, and a willingness to get a little dirty.

Features

Playtested rules. Hundreds of games hours have been spent by groups across the country to make sure that TNT has been put through its paces. The rules have been revised and refined to a metaphorical razor’s edge. Be assured that TNT is not just a throw away ruleset to gather dust on your wargaming bookshelf.

No I go U go. Letting one player activate his entire warband before you can go is outdated and unrealistic. Instead TNT uses a dynamic activation system where at any time play can switch between players, allowing for a true anarchic battlefield.

Warbands of 5-20 models max. There is no need to go out and purchase a huge assortment of models. Chances are you might even have enough models in your collection to get playing immediately.

Six factions to choose from. Raiders, mutants, preservers, peacekeepers, tribals, and caravanners. All have different options and play a little differently. There is a warband for every taste. Plus each faction has a sub-type with different agendas, even friends can be enemies.

Plenty of mutations, skills, and abilities. TNT has over 60 different mutations, skills, and abilities. Different models types can choose individual skills, which encourages warband diversity. While there are a lot of skills, most models will have one or none, keeping the game relatively simple and not bogged down in minutia.

Plenty of weapons and equipment. With more than 60 separate weapons, armor, and equipment there is plenty of options to go around and a great chance you can use any model in your collection, no matter what they are armed with.

Harness the power of the past. No wasteland is complete without powerful ancient weapons littered about. Everything from laser carbines, plasma casters, and the ever popular power armor. There are over 25 separate relics waiting to vaporize your opponents.

Multiple scenarios and full campaign. TNT has five balanced scenarios to challenge your warbands and more will be released in the future. Further, a fully detailed campaign system is included to keep track of injuries, income, experience, new skills, and overall reputation. Watch your warband go from a bunch of softbellies to full wasteland legends.

A truly dangerous wasteland. TNT includes full rules for wasteland hazards such as emberquakes, ripwinds and other natural occurrences that are as dangerous to your warband as your opponent. Additionally, a bestiary is included with over 30 entries for various wasteland creatures. Everything from the simple rad zombie to the terrifying landsnapper has been catalogued and presented for your hunting pleasure.

Price: $25 PDF Only; hardback version coming. 170 Pages. Written by Joseph McGuire. Art by Don Ellis Aguillo, David Arenas, Gilles Bjork, Mark Bulahao, Leonardo Calamati, Curtis Fell, Leon Jo, John Newman, Matthew Roberts, Eryck Webb.

Check the full miniature range here packed with mutants, survivors, robots and giant rats because we all love our miniatures especially new ones!

World's End Publishing: Mutant Cannibals – The True Nuclear Family Warband

A bit late but just found this news from World's End Publishing: Just in time for Halloween, World's End Publishing is proud to present an entirely free and playable warband for This Is Not a Test (TNT). Based on such movies as the Devil’s Rejects, The Hills Have Eyes, and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, among many others, the Mutant Cannibal warband is a dark and twisted take on wasteland mutants. Though TNT is still waiting to be released, this free download gives insight into the core of the TNT warbands and their design. Enjoy.

World's End Publishing: How to Create a Warband

World's End Publishing has just posted how you can create a warband for their upcoming "This is Not A Test" wargame. As TNT progresses behind the scenes, I thought it might be a bit of fun to talk about warband creation. Starting warbands cost 400 points in Barter Scrip or BS for short. For this exercise I am going to be using the roster for the Peacekeepers. Peacekeepers are mercenary organizations that enforce wasteland justice, keep the roads clear for trade, or force their own petty agendas.

The warband below is a pretty despicable lot more interested in lining their pockets and keeping the local settlers under their thumbs. Called the Wasters, they have taken over the small town of Sorrow, which lies just south of the border between the Penns and the Tri-State Wasteland. Beyond the borders of the major settlements, the Wasters are free to do and take whatever they want. Generally, tough, they see fit to leave the locals alone along as their high fees are paid. For the trouble, they do keep the local raiders under control, but they make a point of keeping the local populace just scared enough to pay up and not fight back. Those that do stick up for themselves most often flee the territory or find an explosive collar clamped around their neck. Follow this link for the warband sample and comments from the designers.
