Vesper-On Games: Vesper-on Games and TrollTrader have recently reached and agreement in order to continue the publication of the Carnevale: the miniatures game and Home Raiders game ranges. From now on, TrollTrader will hold the rights of both IPs and will work to develop both properties. This will ensure that there is a future for the games originally launched and published by Vesper-on Games.

Carnevale is a skirmish miniatures game set in a fantasy version of XVIII century Venice. Its original game engine allows for a very narrative experience, which helped this game to be nominated to the Origins Awards as best miniatures rules of 2012.

Home Raiders is a game designed to make wargaming available to all publics, and its easy to learn and dynamic system is the best entryway for any new players and a fun environment for veterans as well. Set in the real world, hordes of tiny warriors break into our homes in order to control our spaces.

We are happy to see our home brands being taken into the arms of the TrollTrader team. We are sure that they will be able to develop these universes and their range of miniatures brilliantly, and we are convinced that being based in the UK will only help our creations flourish like never before. We will remain available for TrollTrader in order to counsel them in developing the games, but of course all the future decisions and the path of these properties will belong only to TrollTrader.

We are delighted to be bringing Carnevale and Home Raiders into our business and cannot wait to push forward with what we believe are very strong and characterful ranges with huge future potential.

For Carnevale we are going to set about commissioning some new art, sculpting of new characters and resculpting of some old favourites. Our laser team at TTCombat are already working on new scenery including a complete Venetian board with canals etc. We want to see this in as many stores as possible by offering a great gaming experience for their players with an organised play programme and player rewards.

Home Raiders has to be one of the best ideas I have ever seen in this industry! We all want an easy way to bring more people into our gaming lives, our friends, partners but most of all our kids! A child’s untidy bedroom suddenly becomes a battlefield as the scenery is made up of your belongings! Moving forward we want to release a plastic starter box and bolster the existing range of figures. The complexity of the models will remain simple in order be easy to paint so kids can enjoy that aspect of the hobby too!

Having skyped with David Esbrí last night you can see that these games and their worlds have been created with so much passion and thought by someone with a huge amount of love for the hobby. I want to say the future is bright but in the twisted world of Carnevale that doesn’t sound quite right so lets instead say the future is exciting!

From now on Vesper-on Games ceases its activity and we will no longer answer any emails or messages. Any future communications will have to be held with Troll Trader and TTCombat. Vesper On Games: New Wave of Carnevale Miniatures Released - Cool Land Shark!

Vesper On Games: … And this is the third release since we relaunched the game a few months ago. We continue supporting these with the models unlocked during the Kickstarter, and now you can see them gloriously painted for the first time!

The Kárcharos-Rashaar has to be a must-have for any Rashaar army worth its mettle. This bizarre mutated shark will add extra watery speed and punch to this already hard hitting faction.

The Knight of the order of Malta and the Nosferatu are the first newcomers outside from the Vatican and Strigoi Starter sets. A clever use of the Nosferatu’s hypnotic abilities can wreck the nerves of the most laid back opponent. They are a slow bunch, but if you use them with intelligence you can easily control the tempo of the game. The Knights of the order of Malta swore their loyalty to the new Pope, and even if their worn out equipment looks bad and dated, their fierce combat skills make them a key supporting piece for the Vatican forces. On the other hand, we are also releasing the Gondoliere of the Guild. We finally have available one of the most iconic figures of the vatican landscape, ready to jump into the game.

Finally, both the Inquisitor of the Vatican Forces and the Strigoi Noble are being made available outside their Starter sets. All of them available to be ordered from your favourite retailer and in our online store.

Vesper-On Games: Home Raiders Kickstarter Launched and Funded!

Vesper-On Games: Welcome to the Home Raiders crowdfunding campaign! We are working to make a brand new game destined to bring new gamers into the miniatures collecting hobby while offering a thrilling game experience to veterans as well.

Home Raiders is a game played with small scale models. These models represent the combatants that travel from a dimension known as the Inner-space to your very home, in order to battle for the dominance of your space. These fighters are little folk (which means that the scale of the models is actually 1:1) which exist in dimensions parallel to ours, and crash our world in order to thrive in theirs.

The game is very easy to grasp, and is a great option for a fast game that takes place on your living room coffee table, your office desk, or even around your kitchen sink. It takes no time at all to set up, so you can get your dice rolling in a breeze. If you are an experienced gamer, Home Raiders is a great choice for an improvised gaming session or even a well laid out match amongst a bunch of friends. If you want to play with your younger brothers and sisters, cousins or even your children, you won't find a better option to getting them started with this amazing hobby.

The basic game box includes all the essentials needed to start playing Home Raiders: 14 models that make two Teams (Gremlins and New Lilliput), 9 ACE dice, pearls and Wound counters, Character cards and a set of rules. You will only need a measuring tape in inches, plus an opaque bowl (which you probably already own). All the models from the core box are made of metal and cast in one single piece, so other than sticking them to the base, there is no building involved. Vesper-On-Games: New Carnevale Kickstarter Launched

Vesper-On-Games: We are relaunching Carnevale: the narrative miniatures game. An updated rulebook, two new factions... Start your collection today! This campaign will help us to fund the publication of the new Carnevale rulebook, both in English and in Spanish. We are running out of copies of our first rulebook, so we need to re-print it again. Also last year we tried to publish an expansion for it. We intend to cram all of that goodness together in one magnificent volume. Also we are taking the opportunity to review our award-winning game system and make it even more cinematic than before!

Now we want to get everything together in one spectacular full color volume (close to 300 pages in length) that will include the updated and expanded background section, the reviewed set of rules, all the game adventures we've published all over the place so far and some new ones (both in and out the city of Venice), along with all the rules and descriptions for the characters of the game . We are also expanding the universe with two new factions. The Vatican and the Strigoi are available here since day one, so you can get the models their starter packs from the get go!

Vesper-On-Games: New Carnavale Miniatures Previewed

Vesper-On-Games has previewed these upcoming Carnivale miniatures. Today makes it a year since we had to close our Kickstarter campaign for the first Carnevale sourcebook, which was meant to be named “Fangs and Crosses”. We’ve been working all this time in order to improve and plan the release of our following products, and also to make sure we have a solid ground to keep our project alive.

And that’s exactly what we’re up to! In the next few weeks, on the 13th of September we will launch our new Kickstarter. We have paid close attention to the feedback that you have been kind enough to send our way. That’s why we really believe that this will be the campaign that will make the difference, and we hope you will enjoy and come with us along the way. In the following days we will be posting updates on the details, such as the final date, images of some of the new models and so on. Don’t miss it! We are counting on you!

Vesper-On Games: The Return of Carnevale

Vesper-On Games: So we are here to give you a couple of clues about what concerns us at present. We just ordered the Miniatures for the Starter sets of the two new factions which we announced in our last Kickstarter... for the next Kickstarter!

We read all feedback we received about our latest campaign, and designed the new one with your help. We will dedicate this summer to put everything in order with the idea of re-launching the new campaign in autumn. We do our utmost to get the message to as many people as possible, and we will be uploading content gradually in the coming months.

Vesper-On Games: “After a long silent while, the time to break it has come and we have to place our cards on the table.This very month is the second anniversary of the release of Carnevale: the miniature game and Vesper-on Games' endeavor. The first sixteen months of our journey, whilst difficult, proved that Carnevale was a solid, profitable and marketable property that managed to make way in the busy shelves of miniature games. Our vision of an original game setting, with the best freelance sculptors available and a solid game system did well and our brand managed to earn its presence in our industry on a international level on a short time. 

Last April we received a buying offer for our company (please do not ask where did that offer come from, we will not entertain any speculation on this matter as it would look really bad on our professional behavior). This offer halted our activity, since our business was soon to be handed over to a new management, while keeping our current design team. After too many months without any advancements on the subject we understood that the process was over. Those months of zero activity damaged our international distribution base, choked our economical flux and we lost the impetus generated during the previous months.

The global economic situation, the spanish tax pressure and a lack of reasonable loan policies made us rush a Crowdfunding campaign to ensure the future of the project. We believe that we promoted it really well, but the campaign itself probably had many flaws, or at least it didn't manage to raise the interest of the public who populate this sort of sites. After two weeks of launching the campaign, and hardly 1,000 sterling pounds away from our initial goal, we decided to cancel the campaign. We were sure that the slow pace we had wasn't getting us anywhere safe. 

We needed to take some time away for reflection, and we have been searching for options to relaunch the Vesper-on Games project in any profitable way. We haven't managed to get there yet. This is why we need to keep this state of inactivity during a few more months. We are sure that we will find the way to put out the next sourcebook and the array of new models we have in store for you, in such a way that we can ensure the longevity of this firm in the long term. Likewise, we continue working in new projects and formats easier to put out into the market, and we hope to share them with you in the following months. This should give us at Vesper-On Games the chance to recover from the heavy financial hit we risked in this project, and jump back to the field with the structure that will kick Vesper-on Games back into movement. We will keep you all posted of any updates in this channel.

Vesper-On Games: Fangs and Crosses Kickstarter Cancelled

Just received the news that the Vesper-On Games Kickstarter has been cancelled. You can find more information in the text below by Jordi from Vesper-On-Games explaining the issues and reason of the cancellation.

"Dear backers,

It is a fact that the actual trend of this Kickstarter campaign is not taking us in the direction we expected to go. That is a really hard bullet to bite. We sure made a few mistakes at presenting this project to the world. Maybe we should have aimed straight to the £17,000 for the printed book, which at the end of the day is what we all really wanted to see. Maybe we could have done this in a different currency. Maybe the stretch goals... Maybe. But we didn't, and for whatever reason this is not working.

We are going to stop this campaign. We will need to take a step back and rethink our strategy. We will not re-launch this project with another Kickstarter campaign, at least not right away. Carnevale proved many times that it is a successful concept, and that has a lot of people willing to invest in it. So we will need to find a new way to make Fangs and Crosses happen... and we will keep you posted on that. But please give us some room and some time to make it right this time. 

In any case we are trying to take all the best we can out of this situation. This has been a huge humbling learning experience. We are EXTREMELY grateful to all of you willing to trust us with your money. We all make big leaps of faith when we take part in crowdfunding campaigns, both as backers and as entrepreneurs, and we can't be thankful enough with all of you guys for your faith in us. We feel really proud of that. Thank you.

We will close this Campaign, but we will still leave it alive for a couple of days so you can all contribute with your comments if you feel like it (We're not sure if that's doable once we cancel this). We always take pride on listening to our fanbase, and we're sure we will learn a lot from your thoughts and your comments.

Vesper-On-Games has recently launched their Fangs and Crosses Kickstarter and for those who missed the launch. Here are some fragments of the kickstarter and a video to get you started! The campaign looks promising and almost reached their funding goal, after that a lot of funding goals are scheduled so pledge and you will probably receive some extras if you pledge high enough.

The first expansion for the award winning Carnevale, the miniature game. New factions, new characters, new rules... new experience! Fangs and Crosses will be the first Sourcebook for Carnevale: the miniature game. We need your help to produce, illustrate and translate the PDF of Fangs and Crosses, and hopefully, we can also print this book. This is what this campaign is all about, but if we manage to go beyond this point, we have loads of fun ready for you all while we dig deeper and deeper into the universe of Carnevale.

The Vatican grows restless with the unchained powers that roam free in the heart of the venetian empire, and is sending its troops to put a stop to the debauchery that is being unleashed there on a daily basis. On the other hand, the Strigoi are a massive group of feral vampires that travelled from the heart of Europe to Venice in order to fulfill the lust for power of Drâculea and Venice seems to be a key piece in his masterplan.

Vesper-On-Games: Winter just fell like a heavy snow blanket over the city of Venice. Along with the cold came new contestants for the blood in these streets.

The Strigoi have arrived from the heart of Europe to La Serenissima. Commanded by Drâculea, they are looking for the access to other worlds through the Rent of the Sky. On the other hand, the Vatican, exasperated at the unchained powers in Venice wants to end with all that heresy. The rest of the forces in Venice grow up their arsenal to confronting to new and older enemies. 

We want to present you “Fangs and Crosses”, the first Sourcebook for Carnevale. New factions, new characters, new rules and background that will allow you live a great experience in this dark version of late XVIII century Venice.

But we need your help to get this objective. Putting out a full color publication and many miniatures is very expensive. Vesper-on Games is a small company, therefore we present you our first Kickstarter project. Help us and become a part of history.
