Blackcat bases mascotte

This mini was a free give away from blackcat bases at crisis 2008. So I decided to give it a go,...
the figure is a small cat with a ring around his head (I think the same stuff that an angel has around his head but I don't know the name in english)

Just a nice figure that you can paint in 10 minutes.

Kallistra Scifi miniature

Here are some picture of my Kallistra figure, It's a mini from their scifi-range that I bought a while ago (a year :p) during the bring and buy of crisis 2008 (Antwerp). I've bought an entire pack of them (10 mini's for just 5 euro that's 0.50 for metal figure!). This is just one of them, the guy with the mohawk,...

Just one tip don't enlarge the photo's as from 10cm close, It doesn't looks good :P

The model was painted with humbrol and gamesworkshoppaints, I love to paint with the humbrol ones. (but don't forget to stir them first otherwise you have a glossy paintjob).

Photo from the side

I really love his muscular arms and I think I painted them right.

Another photo of his arms

On this photo you can clearly see the camopattern, this was achieved with 3 sorts of humbrol paint.

I hope you enjoyed the photo's,

Cardboard warhammer 40k titan (part II)

Here are some pictures of the almost finished titan, I finally managed to build the body, head and arms. However the head isn't still right looks a bit like a toy? (tips needed!!). On this picture you can clearly see ork signs like added armor plates, exhaust pipes and other orkstufff... But he isn't ready yet, still much must happens first of all an entire new coat of paint!!

The front of the massive body, decorated with an ork-sign! You can also see a piece of the massive 2-barrelled gun and the smaller gun on the right.

Some detail on the left foot, there's some damage (see the plastic tube)!

Backside of the bady with the 2 huge exhaust pipes and a floor for the grot repairers.

The left side of the body, where the arm will be attached to.

The left arm.

The chainsaw for the left arm!!

The gun platform for the right side of the titan ( no arm there).

The titan in all it's glory, he's huge!!! difficult to storage however you can take him in 2 pieces :p

Another picture of the ork-titan!!

Stay tuned the finished titan will follow soon (some weeks),

Vietnam 1/72 (part II)

Here are some randomshots of my jungle terrain, this is named Vietnam terrain but you can use these jungle pieces to represent jungle areas all over the world, from Africa to Central America.

On this picture you can see a bombed piece of jungle. You can see my news modular rocks which were simply made of polystrene and textured with sand. These rocks weren't flocked because they must prove service in every sort of terrain. You can also see my older pieces of terrain, this piece in the front of the picture has a base of MDF and was textured, flocked afterwards. The long grass was achieved by glueing broom bristles on to the base with a hotgluegun. The last new terrainpiece on this picture is the piece of wood which has a really interessting shape, i use it to represent some kind of huge fossilised treeroot?

On this picture you can see one of my bargain buys, this buddha was bought for only 0.50 eurocents on a local fleamarket. He was already painted and weathered however his nose is broken off this is a really nice central piece for an oriental game.

Other pieces on this picture are older like the trees and the jungle for more photos check the archive. On the table himself you can see a mixture of pineneedles and other forestmaterials these were gathered by my on a holiday in the Ardennes. (also gathered 5 kilo of rocks, pineapples attacked by squirrels :P ideal for making palmtrees!!).

I hope you enjoyed this small article,

But stay tuned more will follow,

OPERATION: converting Germans into British sailors?

Hi, finally I will show you some pieces of my figs collection, these figs were from wargames factory based in the US. I really love this company's work because they mainly produce 28mm plastic figures and because they support triangle and recycle plastics.

British sailor with axe (axe from Gamesworkshop's orcs, other parts are WGF)

British sailor with rifle ( totally WGF, rifle from the zulu sprue)

Another British, I name him the Cook armed with a rifle. (totally WGF, rifle from the zulu sprue and the head from the British sprue)

My proud, the explorer and conquer. (Also a totally WGF mini, rifle from the zulusprue, head and helmet from the British sprue and the body and arms of the Germansprue)

The British sailor armed with a machete or for the friends "angry Joe"! this figure was mostly build from WGF part with the exception of the machete (Gamesworkshop's wargriders plastic kit not the metal kit!)

I also made some markers, here's the marker "left for death" or "save my" he will be used in several games as an objective. (also totally WGF)

Another pic, here you can see the other marker I've made. this markers was made with an German head and a piece of a German spear. This marker that I call "the decapitated head" duuuuh :P will also be used as an objective.

Last but not least, a groupshot of all the converted Germans, I hope that you enjoyed the pics!!

Comments are welcome!

Stay tuned more will follow soon, kallistra scavengers, painted 1/72 vehicles, perry napoleonic, ...

WWII Armoured Russian train (15mm)

Here are some pictures of my second attempt! This one looks a little bit better :p However still in progress. This train consist of a locomotive, 2 light gunwagons, 1 heavy gunwagon, 4 ordinary wagons. Their are also 3 damaged and burning ordinary wagons! To represent destroyed wagons in a game. This train was also made entirely out of cartonboard and covered with pieces of bandage.

The locomotive.

The heavy gunwagon, the turrets were made of lids, toothpicks and balloonsticks.

The other side of the heavy gun wagon.

The 2 light gunwagons, the turrets here were made of cartonboard, toothpicks and balloonsticks.

A view of 1 light gunwagon.

The 4 ordinary wagons, roofs were made of corrugated cartonboard.

The damaged wagons, the fire was made of hotglue I sculpted to represent flames.

Close up of the fire.

Some testers I made of the flames, they look pretty good!

the entire train, he just needs some detailling such as extra machineguns, maybe some AA-guns and much paint!

I think I will paint him grey or brown with large rectangular camouflage patterns, and on the bandage I will put some flock.

WWII Armoured Russian train (15mm)

This piece was my first attempt to make an armoured train for WWII. During the beginning of WWII, Polish armoured trains were used extensively and succesfully to disrupt the german lines. As an observer mentionned "Poland had only few armoured trains, but their officers and soldiers were fighting well. Again and again they were emerging from a cover in thick forests, disturbing German lines"

This train was built to represent a Polish or Russian train but isn't historical correct! The entire train measures 55 cm. It exists out of 4 wagons and a locomotive. In order: the locomotive, machinegunwagon, supplywagon, cannonwagon and a wagon to transport heavy equipment such as tanks, trucks, airplaneparts, etc...

Here you can see the front of the train with the armoured locomotive, this locomotive was build with only cartonboard and pieces of junk I found.

On this picture you can see a part of the locomotive and the machinegunwagon. This piece was also made of cartonboard just like the entire train.

On this picture you can see my favorite part, the cannonwagon and supplywagon. The turret was made of small round lid and the barrel of an old and cheap artillerypiece.

Here you can see the train in all it's glory, well yeah glory? This was just a test.

Craters (15-28mm)

Here are some pictures of my craters, these are I think 2 or 3 years old and have served many German and American soldiers well as they provided that needed cover to assault a bunker or survive an artillerybarrage!!

These craters were made of circles which were cut out polystryn with my hotwire tool.
I really love the hotwire tool! After that I prepared the cd-bases and attached a piece of cartonboard above the holes in the cd's. then I sanded the craters and glued them on the cd-bases. then I applied some filler in and around the crater to fill out some gaps and errors, also I used the filler to smooth up the transition between the crater and the base.

After all that work, I textured the crater and base with: PVA, sand and some small piles of grind.
Then I painted the entire piece in a brown tone and drybrushed it with a lighter brown tone. To represent the burned and wasted hole, I simply drybrushed that particular area with black. After the painting I added some static grass and the craters were ready to use in a wargame.

WWII bunker (15mm)

Finally, I'm posting again! However this is one of my first pieces of scratchbuilding, I was and I am still really pleased with the endresult. This WWII bunker on scale 1/72 or 15mm was built to reinforce the german defenses in one of my first wargame adventures. This bunker was the main strongpoint of a small defence network which included several defenses like trenches, small firingpits, artillerypositions, etc...

By the way sorry for the blurry photographs... :S
The bunker's basic shape was made of wood, I think it was hardboard. The firinggaps were made by glueing 2 woodpieces to the basic shape. The earthwork around the bunkers was made of large chunks of polystryn which were sanded later on to get the round shapes. On top of the bunker I also placed some earthwork and a small ventilationshaft which is an excellent objective in a game!
After the rough work, I added some texture to the earth and bunker. The texture existed of PVA and sand, this mixture I almost use everywhere! On bunkers, ground, buildings, rocks, ... As finishing touch I added some flock and liches.
However this bunker hasn't served the german player much!! I still love the piece because I was playing with the American airborne units and was able to throw a grenade through the ventilation shaft and if that wasn't enough I also swept the bunker with a flamethrower :p
