Revisiting a project!

Hi, here's another post about my ongoing French Napoleonic Army! During the last weeks I steadily painted some other French soldiers in an attempt to finish battalion number two by the end of august. It's likely I will reach the deadline as I only need to paint up an additional 3 grenadiers, 3 voltiguers and the commanding officer/flag bearer and drummer. I've also managed to attach a French Flag to the "finished" battalion but there were lots of problems.

First of all, the Victrix flag was too large for the Perry Miniatures flag bearer! I've finally solved the problem by chopping the flag pole in two. After that I glued the flag in place reinforced by a piece of tin foil and just put the smallest piece of the pole in the hole on the top of the flag. After the PVA was dried it was surprisingly strong! (next time I will take pictures of the progress much easier!)

The two battalions, all the battalions will be based upon wooden bases of warbases.uk.

A close up of the second battalion in progress. Each finished battalion will exist out of 24 soldiers in marching pose and 4 voltiguers.

Revisiting a project!

Hi, As some may know I've recently finished the main companies of my first napoleonic battalion. I decided to make 24 men battalions each with a skirmish screen of 4 voltiguers. I already finished 13 soldiers for my next battalion and has enough men to make a third and fourth! Enough for a Brigade!

I've already started to paint a unit of cuirrasiers which will exist out of 12 men including the command figures. I've also decided that I will probably base the entire army on bases of warbases.co.uk as I quit like the look of slightly thicker bases and they are very well priced!

Revisiting a project!

Hi, I'm starting a new period, well restart my napoleonic project! I've already purchased 2 boxes of infantry and 1 box of cavalry sometime ago. I've also painted some infantry and I'm now completing some others to finish the battalion.

All the figures are made by Perry Miniatures: 84 infantry, 14 cavalry and 1 metal commander "Guyot" I think, it was a free give away when you bought the cavalry set.

Another close up.

I hope I will be able to paint all of these miniatures before I buy new ones.
