Today we take a closer look at the MarDav Miniatures Japanse Ho-Ni III Tank Destroyer. MarDav Miniatures is a UK based miniature wargame company specialised in 3D printed World War Two miniatures and scenery in a selection of common miniature scales while also offering a selection of STL files should you have a 3D printer.
At the moment their excellent range contains vehicles, tanks, artillery and in some cases also infantry for the following factions: British, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Soviet and US along with useful scenery. These models are supplied in either resin for the actual miniatures and vehicles while the scenery is printed in PLA, should there be any doubt on the chosen material this is always mentionned on the website with each product along with the available scales, prices and some information about the history of the chosen model. See example below
The Japanse Ho-Ni III Tank Destroyer
The actual printed Japanse Ho-Ni III Tank Destroyer arrived quickly and well-packed. Note that the current lead time is around four weeks at the time of publication. As mentionned before the Japanse Ho-Ni III Tank Destroyer being a vehicle is printed in quality resin and is pretty much ready to be assembled out of the packaging.
For this review I haven't cleaned the model yet to show the amount of supports still present on the model and as you can see these are pretty minor and easily removable. The pieces fit extremely well and the assembled model as shown below hasn't been glued yet, pretty amazing precision compared to standard cast resin models. Before assembly I always recommend to wash your models in warm soapy water just to be sure that the model has been fully cleaned before glueing and painting. This particular 1/56 model costs €16 or equivalent in other currencies, pretty fair in my opinion. The plastic miniature shown is an 28mm Warlord Games Soviet Soldier included for scale.
Conclusion
To conclude if you're looking for some nice resin printed vehicles, artillery, infantry or even scenery make sure to check out MarDav Miniatures as they have a nice collection of interesting miniatures available. The quality of the shown model is excellent and certainly equal if not better than much of the other traditionally casted resin vehicles on the wargame market. The prices are fair and the models are available in a nice selection of common wargaming scales. Their range is focussed on World War Two and great selection of nations is already available for purchase. So if you're interested make sure to check their website and available vehicles.
