Warlord Games announced the following new miniatures and wargames for 2017, looks like it's going to be a great year already! Read on and discover more about them through our intel.
Test of Honour - The Samurai Miniatures Game
The first new tabletop miniature game mentionned is Test of Honour - The Samurai Miniatures Game featuring highly detailled multipart plastic 28mm Samurai figures. These will probably be the Wargames Factory miniatures which are now rebranded and sold by Warlord Games. They have done the same thing with the Wargames Factory Zombies and Zombie Survivors (even retooled some) so won't be surprised if they have done the same with the historical Samurai and Ashigaru. Note that loose sprues of the miniatures are already available through the Warlord Games webshop here
So if you're looking to start your venture into the interesting world of Feudal Japan fielding brave Samurai and resilient Ashigaru, make sure to keep checking the development of this boxed set wargame. I have also added some pictures of the Wargames Factory plastic miniatures to give you an idea of the quality you can expect along with a released picture of the boxed set artwork. The miniatures below were painted and photographed by the talented painter Matt Leahy
Blood Red Skies - World War Two Aerial Dogfighting Game
With Blood Red Skies you take the battle to the skies in immersive World War Two aerial dogfights in which you control dozens of fighters. This game has been in development by Andy Chambers since at least 2012 and was also demonstrated during wargame conventions in the past. Not much information to be found about this interesting wargame though, with no mention of cool models or more details on the gameplay. As you can see in the picture this game will be launched through the popular Kickstarter crowdfunding platform.
Found this online quote from Andy Chambers - Blood Red Skies, a WWII aircraft game. The kind of air wargame I want to play is one with dozens of fighters engaging at once. I am not happy doing that with the current WWII aircraft games that are out there and want to try to do better.
Weird of What! Beyond the Gates of Antares and Konflikt 47'
Next we have some upcoming miniature releases for the more recent science fiction and weird wars miniature wargames Beyond the Gates of Antares and Konflikt 47'. For Beyond the Gates of Antares by Rick Priestley we have winged alien creatures mounted by humanoid like warriors. For Konflikt 47', the Weird World War Two game based on the popular Bolt Action rules, we have the new Japanese Armoured Suits, German Tank Walker and some kind of British Automaton.
What Else? Doctor Who, Black Powder and Bolt Action
Warlord Games has also previewed the following Doctor Who: Into the Time Vortex miniature game boxed sets: The Cybermen Collectors Set and the Plastic Dalek Set. These have already been previewed so I have gathered some better pictures for you all to check. The Cybermen Collectors Set will contain 10 metal miniatures featuring the different Cyberman designs from 1966 - 2013 while the Plastic Dalek Set will contain twenty plastic multi-part Dalek. Check all our Doctor Who Miniature Game News here
Following we have some new Black Powder boxed set all featuring the rebranded Wargames Factory Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery sets looking at the pictures. And last but not least are some cool World War Two Bolt Action releases featuring a Battle of the Bulge Campaign Book, Veteran Germans in winter gear and a rather impressive Panzer VIII Maus.
