Commando Miniatures: Commando Miniatures is proud to unveil the latest additions to our range, the Gurkhas! Our first pack is Gurkha Platoon Command (pack B-40). This consists of a Queen’s Gurkha Officer armed with an Armalite AR-15, a Bren gunner, equipped with the L4A1, a radio operator and a Punan native tracker brandishing a Jungle Carbine (SMLE Mk 5). The Officer and machine gunner are wearing the '44 pattern webbing which had been specifically designed during World War Two for tropical use. They also carry the famous Gurkha "Kukri" knife with its 16" blade. More miniatures in the Gurkha range will follow in the near future.
We are also pleased to announce the release of new figures in our Radfan Hill Arab Tribesmen range (pack R-38). This is a two figure pack consisting of a chieftain and a marksman, both armed with Mauser ’98 rifles. These are the tribesmen who revolted against, well just about everyone, in 1964. British Forces in Aden had to launch what was called Operation Cap Badge in order to pacify them. Eventually the SAS, Commandos, artillery, and air strikes by Hawker Hunters were called in to support the regular troops. It was an arduous campaign in difficult terrain. The new Gurkha and Arab packs will be ready for purchase at Salute and will then be available for purchase via our website in the next couple of weeks.
