Tabletop Workshop: We are pleased to announce that our 28mm hard plastic Medieval model building range is finally set for release, starting with the Medieval Chapel and Cottage. They are both simple to paint and only require a few layers of dry-brushing before they are brought to life. The starting price will be £22 for the chapel. Following on from this, the Medieval Cottage will be available from mid-October for around £20. We think this is great value for money. Both items will soon be released on http://www.tabletopworkshop.co.uk/ and will be available internationally from our webstore.
Recently, we also announced on our Facebook that the next products to be produced are a simple 2 storey dwelling, and a more affluent 2 storey dwelling (think Merchant's house or small Inn). These both come with an upper floor and should be available in the build-up to Christmas. Furthermore, we are aiming to produce a building a month including a wide range of scenery for a wide range of scenarios, including water mills and blacksmiths.
Here's a small introduction to the company: Enigma Design is a small design engineering company specialising in the toolmaking and product design elements of the UK plastics industry, and Managing Director Chris Ford has been in the industry for nearly 30 years since starting as an apprentice in the 80's. We work for some of the best UK toolmakers, producing mould tools for various industry sectors - automotive, medical, white goods, and yes toys/models.
With our extensive mould design and toolmaking experience we are perfectly equipped for plastic product design, and we have ventured more into this side of things in the last few years, designing tooling efficient products that can actually be made. These skills coupled with our state of the art (and very expensive) Objet 3D printer have led us into new markets as well as allowed us to service our existing ones with this new technology.
We have been involved in the design and manufacture of plastic figures and vehicles etc for some of the leading UK and international wargame companies over recent years, and have decided to produce our own range of hard plastic buildings for the market, in various scales. Utilising all of our knowledge, skills and contacts within the plastics industry we are able to bring these products to market.
The costs of plastic design, and the subsequent tooling costs would normally make this a financial no go ground, but as we are from within the toolmaking industry, we are in the best position to bring such ideas to life. We hope you will like our products and we look forward to bringing you as many as we can over the coming years. All our products are made in the UK, using our own designers, and UK toolmakers and moulders, so you can be assured of the quality of our products. We are proud to put 'Made In The UK' on our boxes.
