Karwansaray Publishing: Henchmen of Ares

Karwansaray Publishing: For those who missed it in our newsletter, Karwansaray Publishers is proud to announce the Ancient Warfare magazine special for 2013: Henchmen of Ares: Warriors and Warfare in Ancient Greece is a new, hardcover book written by Josho Brouwers (the editor of Ancient Warfare). Using Homeric epics as a guide, this work will explore the cultural history of warriors and warfare in Early Greece, from the chariot-borne soldiers of the Mycenaean palaces down to the men who fought at the Battles of Thermopylae and Salamis.

Like our 2012 special, Edge of Empire: Rome's Frontier on the Lower Rhine, this new book will be packed with photos of artifacts, maps illustrating the ancient world, and of course the custom illustrations for which Ancient Warfare magazine has become so well-known. Henchmen of Ares will be released on November 11th, 2013. In the meantime, you can pre-order your copy directly from us to ensure fast delivery and free shipping anywhere in the world! If you are in North America, the book can also be reserved via Amazon.
