Foundry Miniatures: This month's giveaway is an unreleased Renaissance Halberdier, sculpted by Michael Perry. This will be two Renaissance giveaways in a row, so next month we promise to do something different! Other models we have lined up are: several Darkest Africa models, Will Hannah's Highlanders and a Crimean War Royal Artillery officer. All of these are so far unreleased.
Michael Perry emailed us about the true origins of the July Giveaway model. We thought we might as well leave it in his own words, so here is what he said: I thought I should let you know the origins of July 'give away' on the Foundry' site. The figure was the first one I made after losing my right arm in 1996. I was right handed before (I wasn't ambidextrous) and made it 10 days after the accident with my left hand, so I was quite proud of it then. It was quite a turning point in my career as the specialist doctor at Queen's said he didn't think I'd be sculpting again. Anyway, thought I'd mention it in case you can change the description.
This month's giveaway was painted by our own Rob Townsend but we would be delighted to see photos of other people's paint jobs if you would like to send them in.
