Commando Miniatures: This is a long overdue update from Commando HQ. While there does not appear to have been much activity recently, we have been busy behind the scenes and soon the waiting will be over. The figures and vehicles to launch that long awaited spring offensive are becoming available.
Coming Shortly
We are pleased to announce that we have just received a new batch of greens which have already been sent to the caster. These include - The Red Wolves of Radfan! South Arabian Rebels (R-30) Yes, they are here. These fierce warriors could hit a Maria Theresa dollar at 50 paces with a single shot from a Mauser '98 and proved an implacable opponent for British troops in the Aden Protectorate between 1958 and 1967. They come equipped with rifles, pistols and a rocket launcher although one figure is left open handed to allow weapon variation. Every man carries his ornate curved dagger (known as a jambiya) proudly in his belt as a symbol of his prowess as a warrior. These figures can be used for the Aden Emergency, for the civil war in neighbouring Yemen or as Adoo warriors during the conflict in Oman during the early 1970s.
British Reinforcements: British Infantry Skirmishing (B-12). This pack adds further poses to the British figures already available. The figures come in a variety of firefight poses and are equipped in “belt order” ie they have disposed of their webbing and are carrying ammunition packs and water bottles on their belts. This was the preferred mode of kit for troops on active service when combat was anticipated. The figures are equipped with Sterlings and SLRs but the grenade thrower has been left open handed so alternative weapons can be substituted.
British GPMG team (B-16). The General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG or Jimpy) was introduced in the early 1960s as a replacement for the venerable Vickers and quickly became popular with troops on active service in all the trouble spots. It fired the standard NATO 7.62mm round also used by the SLR, thus simplifying ammunition supply. The GPMG gunner is assisted by a No2 carrying spare ammunition. Yes, this is escalation, now you can have even more fire power for your patrol in hostile jungle, searing desert or savage mountains.
New Building: Actually it's been on the website for a few weeks now but this is the first opportunity we've had to draw it to your attention. The Equipment and Stores Hut (S-14) is typical of the type of temporary building used in Forward Locality Bases (FLB) in Borneo. Probably also used as accommodation, it is of corrugated sheet and sandbag construction, tough enough to stop a mortar round if needed. We are also pleased to be able to bundle together a judicious selection of our structures at a bargain price.
You can now create an FLB by purchasing the hut, machine gun post and two sets of barricades for £30, a saving of £7 on the individual pieces. http://www.commandominiatures.com/quartermasters-stores.html

Land Rover Upgrade: The Commando Miniatures Series 1 Land Rover has proved to be a popular model since it's introduction last year. We now offer the model with the alternative of a white metal front bumper. This is a little finer in scale and can be used to replace the existing resin bumper that is cast into the body of the model. It's obviously up to the purchaser whether the new or existing bumper is used.
