Legionnaire Games: Strike Legion Tactical Rules Compendium Promotion

Legionnaire Games: More than just a simple compilation of the four books in the Strike Legion Tactical series (the award-winning Strike Legion Main Rulebook, Module 1: The Genome Gambit, Module 2: The Clockwork Armies and Skunk Works), the Strike Legion Tactical Rules Compendium contains one of the most complete game systems available on the market today for playing ‘hard’ Science Fiction or Science Fantasy miniatures battles using small-scale miniatures (2mm to 15mm). Now at the Wargame Vault.

While the easy-to-learn core game rules and procedures (including Strike Legion’s unique, integrated Electronic Warfare system) have not changed from their original versions, many of the procedures around those core rules have been simplified or standardized. All of the various weapons and systems whose use was formerly tracked using check boxes on unit Data Cards have been modified to simple (Depletion or Usage) die roll functions, obviating the need for most written records during game play, and many other sections have been edited or re-written for better clarity and ease of implementation.

Every section of each rulebook has been collated and consolidated into a unified whole, with all related rules being found in their respective sections. Some of the rules, vehicle systems and infantry attributes have been removed or consolidated to single entries to avoid redundancies, and a few new rules and options have been added for those wishing to implement them.

Each section that has been significantly altered has been marked so that veteran players will quickly be able to grasp the differences and improvements in how the game is played. While the Strike Legion Tactical Rules Compendium is not written in a progressive learning format, sections that are not critical for new players to learn before their first game are also clearly marked, allowing them to begin their first game in short order.

The scope and scale of combat in Strike Legion Tactical have not changed: a player’s forces are grouped into platoons of 2 to 4 individual squad, guns, or vehicles and each player can easily handle a reinforced battalion on the tabletop. More information about the content can be found here.

Legionnaire Games: Close Quarters Skirmish Miniatures Rules

Legionnaire Games: SpecOps missions. Prisoner rescues. Data retrieval. Ambush the enemy, sabotage his equipment and installations. Completing your mission is critical; any casualties are acceptable. Close Quarters: Skirmish, based on our boardgame of the same name, is a fast-paced SciFi miniatures game of small-scale combat operations, suitable for 15mm to 28mm figure scales. Each model represents an individual trooper, vehicle, or crewed weapon; game sizes can range from 12 to 50-60 models (a reinforced platoon of infantry, or a cross attached armored or airborne company), and last from 45 minutes up to a couple of hours.

  • During each game turn, players activate a variable number of models in one of four segments (couplets) in an effort to complete each mission’s objectives – or to prevent their opponent from completing his. The game includes:
  • Easy to play game mechanics, with most functions resolved by the roll of a single die.
  • Basic rules for infantry, support weapons, vehicles, crewed weapons, and indirect fire (including off-board artillery)
  • 22 optional rules for players wanting a more detailed or varied game
  • Dozens of weapons, troop attributes, and vehicle systems to choose from
  • Field officers, NCOs, snipers, hackers, sappers, MBTs, tank destroyers, IFVs, VTOLs, antitank guns, power armor troopers, and a number of possibilities for some very non-human opponents
  • 11 standard scenarios that scale in both table size and number of game turns depending on the forces chosen for use by each player
  • A campaign game system that allows your men to improve over the course of the conflict
  • Complete rules for creating and fielding forces of your own design
  • Four pre-generated forces, representing human and alien factions in the late 25th century, along with TO&E and unit stats for each
  • Two playable sample campaign game forces
  • Blank, edit-enabled troop/vehicle and campaign game roster PDF forms
  • All necessary game markers, templates, and charts

Whether your mission takes place in an industrial complex, in the open field, or within the confines of a starship’s corridors, Close Quarters: Skirmish places the success or failure of each mission into the most capable hands: yours. Now available through the Wargame Vault where the rules currently holds the first place in best selling titles!

Legionnaire Games: Strike Legion: Platoon Leader

Legionnaire Games: Strike Legion: Platoon Leader is a 15mm-based small unit combat game, where individual soldiers can make the difference between victory and defeat. The game features:

  • Alternating squad-based activations, with each team of a squad capable of carrying out independent actions;
  • Team actions that allow great latitude in tabletop operations, including a sensible Overwatch system and multiple team actions per turn based on morale status;
  • Leaders and leadership actions that affect teams, squads, and (possibly) the actions of your entire force;
  • Special rules for crew, medic, scout, and sniper teams;
  • Crewed weapons and squad support weapons;
  • A section dedicated to special characters (Personalities);
  • Complete vehicle combat rules, including provisions for gunships and infantry teams mounted on personal vehicles;
  • Several dozen infantry team attributes, weapons characteristics, and vehicle systems that can be incorporated into the player's own unit designs using the enclosed unit construction rules;
  • Seven scenarios and over two dozen pre-made units;
  • Simple conversion scales to use figures ranging from 6mm to 28mm, based individually or with figures mounted on team bases.

While its focus is on futuristic combat, Strike Legion: Platoon Leader can easily be used to fight platoon- and company-level actions from World War II through modern settings with minimal modifications to the rules. Strike Legion: Platoon Leader is a complete game; ownership of other Strike Legion titles is not necessary to play this game.

Legionnaire Games: Weltkrieg Main Rulebook

New from Legionnaire Games: Weltkrieg allows you to re-create well-known (and not so well-known) battles from the wars of the 20th Century on your tabletop, and change the course of history! Scaled for Grand Tactical representation (one miniatures base = 1 company of troops), this first book of the Weltkrieg series includes:

The game series rules, divided into Basic, Advanced, and Optional sections for ease of learning;

  • Rules that cover basic combat mechanics, command attributes and troop quality, the use of specialized troops (artillery, scouts, aircraft and anti-air, etc.), night actions, airborne operations, engineering functions, and more;
  • Roughly 180 Data Cards containing the game stats for German and Soviet forces on the Eastern Front, 1941-45, plus a dozen pages of unit organizations for both armies, and a special insert containing the game-equivalent TO&E of Panzergrenadier Division Grossdeutschland at the beginning of the 1942 Fall Blau offensive;
  • Five battle scenarios covering actions throughout the war;
  • Seven 'generic' scenarios that can be used for pick-up games, or as the starting scenario for one of two different types of campaign games;
  • Comprehensive game charts, play aids and markers.

Weltkrieg uses a semi-alternating turn sequence that keeps players involved in the game instead of waiting around for their opponent to finish their turn before being permitted to take any actions, and incorporates the use of specific unit orders and Command Points that may be expended to perform certain game functions; formations having better command and control will be able to accomplish more during an average game turn than those with lesser force coordination. Written primarily for 6mm and smaller figure scales, Weltkrieg can accomodate figure scales up to 15mm with minimal rules modifications. This ruleset is now availabe at the Wargame Vault as an electronic version counting 88 pages!
