Wargame News and Terrain: Commissioned Afghanistan Terrain in Action

Just found these pictures from Juan from the Ad Finis wargame blog using the terrain I made for him a while ago.

The pieces I created for these tables are the irrigation ditches, rocky outcrops, tree bases and the large red compound. Check all the pictures on his blog here and here along with some very enjoyable after action reports.

Commission: 28mm Modular Irrigation System for Afghanistan

I have finished this terrain commission for Juan a while ago but hadn't found the time to share the pictures on Wargame News and Terrain. I was asked to build a modular irrigation system suitable for Afghanistan by Juan and gladly accepted the commission as I always like to build wargame terrain to fund some more miniatures! You can find more pictures and information on Juan's excellent blog.

Commission: Napoleonic Spanish Village

Hi, I just finished this Napoleonic Spanish Village commission for James in the UK. These buildings will soon be heading their way to their new home where they will see some heavy action during both napoleonic and Spanish Civil War battles. The village commission existed out of 5 houses and one church, I'm really happy about the look of these, so happy I will probably build a Spanish Napoleonic lay-out board for myself in the near future. Enough here are some pictures I took, more will follow in the future.

Commission: Modern Desert Building

Here's another test piece for a possible commission and a way to test some new techniques and painting colors. This time I made a modern desert building suitable for the Middle East. I really like the result and decided to share it here on my blog. Let me know what you think, I'm thinking of maybe adding some wiring, airconditioning units but those will be for a next building.

Commission: Spanish Buildings

I have just finished of some test pieces for some possible commissions and to try out some new techniques for making Spanish inspired buildings which can easily be used for the Iberian Peninsula or Spanish ports in the Carribean. I'm quite happy with these pieces and the new techniques I used such as creating exposed bricks and painting some grains on the wood doors and windows using multiple diluted layers of paint.

Glad to receive some comments on what you think and you might want to change on the buildings.

Large House and outbuilding with some old poplars in the background

A picture of the buildings with a Brigade Games Pirate

A close-up of the building

On this picture you can see the added painted grains on the wood

The exposed bricks on the outbuilding

The weathered door, quite happy with the result for the first test!

The roofing was also painted using new color tones and I'm happy with the color.
