Victrix: Medieval Foot Sergeants - First Look! Here we have the first figure of the Medieval Foot Sergeants set. This will be another 8 figure frame, so many many more poses, heads/helmets and weapons to come! This sergeant wears a Aketon which is sleeveless padded armour, but then has options for padded sleeved arms meaning he is wearing a Gambeson under his Aketon (which was quite common.)
As you can see, Aketons and Gambesons often had a raised collar to protect the neck more! These heads work as a ball and socket joint. There will be a few figures with this neck and collar system. Weapons are sword, spear, 2 handed axe and an early polearm called a Spetum. A long central blade with curved outer wings. Most polearms were derived from farming implements, this may have derived from a pitch fork? Helmets show a basic bowl helmet and a couple of early Kettle helmets. More variants will follow with the next figure. Also note he has two left leg options for either running or striding forward! This is just a small teaser, we will be sharing many more renders soon.
