It contains nine free-standing scenarios covering the Marquis of Montrose's battles in Scotland in 1644-45. Eight are historical and one, a "what if". Each scenario contains a background briefing, separate briefings for each of the players, a deployment plan and an order of battle. It is illustrated with beautiful images of wargames minis. The scenarios can be played individually or in sequence, as a campaign. Victrix: Greek Hoplites: Now Available to Pre-Order! We have packed our new Greek Hoplite set with detail and dynamism. The figures can be posed in advancing/charging poses with thrusting spears overhead or thrusting their swords, but also with upright spear options if you need the figures to rank up easier.

They mix perfectly well with our earlier Hoplite sets, but we have added more variety of armour and helmet styles. There is now Linothorax armour with scales and a lot more Corinthian style helmets alongside, Illyrian, Chalcidian and Phrygian variants making every Hoplite an individual.

These figures can be used from the wars with the Early Achaemenid Persian empire, the Peleponnesian War with Greeks on Greeks, the Wars with Macedon and the invasions of the Later Achaemenid Persian empire, So from around 500BC to 250BC. You could even add some Carthaginian heads to make them into extra Libyan and Carthaginian spearmen variants.

Daniel's Games Emporium: In this gridded-layout miniature wargame, you take the role of a medieval king, bishop, lord, or commander leading your army on the battlefield. You must choose where and how to focus your troops' actions and control the battle’s impetus. The battle is partly fought on the tabletop like other miniature wargames but is also fought just as hard on the Tactics Chart, providing an additional mind-game against your opponent.

Command your units to move and fight in the areas of the battlefield you wish, but leave the actual process of fighting to your unit commanders. This is represented by the random factor of dice and each of your units’ abstract but often-decreasing Battle Rating. Because of this, your focus is kept where it should be – out-thinking your opponent by using superior tactics and exploiting their weaknesses on the battlefield.

Arrowstorm is not intended as a heavy simulation of medieval warfare but as an enjoyable, simple, and fast-playing battle game. You’ll find that much of the action is stylized and streamlined. Don’t think of “turns” in the usual wargaming way – in each turn your units may fight or move several times, countered by your opponent after every action, creating a very fluid game but at the same time making cohesive planning difficult to achieve. Please note that Arrowstorm shares the same basic rules with my Age of Penda book. Period-specific troop types, army lists, special rules, and minor rules differences exist. The Plastic Soldier Company: We were so impressed with the new special tabletop resin we have been using to print 10mm and 15mm Cromarty ancients miniatures that we decided to test it on WW2 and Cold War vehicles and…..WOW! The results have been astounding in terms of detail and durability in all scales.

So…….we have put together a specially curated collection of 3d printed WW2 miniatures from Plastic Soldier, Excellent Minis and some of the best digital designers and sculptors with the aim to offer complete 6mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm and 20mm WW2 German, British and Commonwealth, US, Soviet, Italian, French, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian and Japanese ranges.

We aim to comprehensively cover options and variants with drop down choice menus for many products. For example, the Panzer IV has options from A to J with zimmerit where applicable and even a couple of destroyed versions. Each product will also be available singly or in multi buy unit packs of 3,4 or 5 miniatures at an increasing discount.

Starting with German vehicles, we have the vast majority of WW2 German vehicles loaded and will be adding artillery and infantry very soon. Victrix: New Plastic Roman Manuballista Release

Victrix: Every Roman Centuria within a Legion was equipped with a Light Bolt shooter (either Scorpion or Manuballista) These were manned by regular Legionaries and used in the field or defensively from forts or during sieges. They were capable of hurling a large dart or bolt at much longer ranges than the typical bow and added some devastating long range, heavy hitting firepower to any Roman Legion. There is a useful image on Trajan’s column depicting this Bolt-shooter with cylindrical drums laying siege to a Dacian hillfort. You get a lot of bits to really customise each figure and make your bolt-shooter bases look ready for business.

What you get 4 x Bolt shooters and the option of extended slider and drawn back slider ready to shoot, 4 x barrels and lots of loose bolts to fill the barrels, 8 x defensive stakes, 16 x crew figures in various poses. Ratcheting back the hand cranks, loading the bolts, standing guard. We even have arms with picks, axes and buckets so you can use them as Romans building and entrenching and 44 x Heads including Option head with Feathers and some bare heads. If you want to convert this into a Late Roman bolt-shooter you could easily convert some of the Late Roman infantry figures from the armoured, unarmoured and archer sets.

Perry Miniatures: Plastic Duchy of Warsaw Infantry news! We are looking at a mid-February release with both boxes of the Duchy of Warsaw Infantry… fingers crossed. These will probably go up for pre-order towards the end of this month. We thought we would show you the fantastic Elite box cover by David Gallagher (who did the Battalion box too).

We also have the first shots of the command frame in. There are a few tweaks to do but not too much as they were very good first shots. As you can see it’s a pretty busy frame, more and more things had to be added. For example, there are five sappers heads with different bearskins as colonel’s liked their regiment to be distinctive, so the ‘heads of the column’ had to stand out. A couple of regiments (irritatingly) had drummers in French cut coats, so an extra drummer for the 4th (who also had a distinctive shako) and the 17th regiments had to be included on the frame. John Morris and Stephan Huber have sent some painted examples in and some of these are shown here. The deal figure Alan decided to make (actually, soon after seeing the panorama of the battle of Raszyn when in Poland recently) was Prince Jozef Poniatowski at Raszyn.
