Perry Miniatures: As we mentioned already Mike Snook has written two books for us in conjunction with a range of figures we’re producing. The second volume ‘Cape Warriors: Volume II – British Battles in Colonial South Africa 1834- 53’ will be published a number of weeks after the first volume, which will be out on April 16th.In the second volume Mike concentrates on the combat and tactical conduct of operations for the period and looks at the most notable general actions. These are accompanied by contemporary artwork, his own annotated battlefield photography and maps. In short, combined with volume I, everything you need to know about the warfare in this fascinating time and place.
The range of figures will include Xhosa, Zulus, Basotho, Fingoes, Boere, militia and of course British. While some of the British figures will be particular to campaigning to South Africa, having adapted clothing and equipment others fought there in standard kit. So some miniatures will be of use for other conflicts of the period e.g. Afghanistan, New Zealand, China or Spain (First Carlist War).
