Dream Pod 9: Heavy Gear Blitz Plastic Kickstarter Passes $61,000 in 4 Days...‏

Dream Pod 9: The Heavy Gear Blitz Kickstarter crowdfunding effort has past $61,000 in 4 days, already being funded and achieving 5 Stretch Goals. The company Dream Pod 9 is now currently attempting to crowdfund an effort to switch their pewter/white metal miniatures over to plastic.

The Basic Starter Set would normally include 16 Gears for $80, with 4 Southern Black Mamba commando Gears, 4 Southern Jager trooper Gears, 4 Northern Jaguar commando Gears and 4 Northern Hunter Gears. All these Gears are at the original Tactical/Blitz scale of 1/144th, or n-scale, rather than the older RAFM 1/87th-scale miniatures. Check the succesful Kickstarter here.

As of right now, the Core Starter Set for $115 includes both the original 16 miniatures, with the addition of 2 Northern Grizzly fire support Gears, 2 Spitting Cobra fire support Gears, 2 MHT-95 Earth hovertanks, 2 Earth FLAIL power infantry squads, and 2 Northern Cheetah reconnaissance Gears. 

Next in line, the Southern reconnaissance Gear, the Iguana. President Robert Dubois and Dave McLeod are both hard at work answering all the questions of the Backers, and have recently issued out video of the miniatures, how they will be put together, and also a short overview of the history of Terra Nova and the Heavy Gear universe that the tabletop boardgame is based in. The current 5th edition ruleset of the Heavy Gear Blitz! game is in open Beta at this time, and can be downloaded for free on DriveThruRPG.
