Just received this news from Claudia from Spieleschmiede: The crowdfunding project Ravenna, Fatto d’Arme is running on the European crowdfunding platform Spieleschmiede. It will publish in English, Italian and German by Sir Chester Cobblepot.
Historical background
The game recreates the Battle of Ravenna, fought on 11 April 1512 (tragic Easter day), by forces of the Holy League and France. The players are divided into two camps and guiding their armies.
Combat system
In the game there are several types of units (infantry, cavalary, artillery) with different strengths and weaknesses. They all are managed with the help of order cards and so called personal initiative maneuvers. Strengths and weaknesses are represented by different stats for defense, melee attack, ranged attack (shooting) and initiative (to determine which unit goes first). The combat is also influenced by terrain and how opponent units are positioned towards each other. When it comes to combat these modifications are added to the dice roll. Some units have some special abilities and modifications that can affect combat, too.
Unique Command System
The Game introduces a new mechanic: the commander mechanic. Based on the reality, you have to give orders from an order card and ignoring these will cost your factions morality points. But sometimes you’ve to ignore the orders from your commander, so you’ve to make a hard choice. Ravenna, Fatto d’Arme can be found on the crowdfunding platform Spieleschmiede.
