Hi, here's another picture from my collection of old terrain pieces! With these pieces I've stumbled into the model and terrain building hobby. This piece was as my the entire collection built and painted by my father. This building was built to represent a Rohan house for my Lord of the Rings skirmish games when I was completly fascinated by the trilogy. For the people who are waiting to finally see my castle of Helmsdeep ... Bad news the castle is still located on my closet and is still covered in dust!

African convoy
Hi, here's the picture which I entered in the first round of the LAF forum painting competition. The convoy exists out of 3 Dixon Miniatures' porters from their excellent Dahomey range. The other 2 miniatures are from Foundry Miniatures' Darkest Africa range which I bought individually at bargain prices.
The Dixon Miniatures were shown before on this blog but I decided to partially repaint them to match the rest of the African civilian figures (10).

Some VBCW progress
Hi, here are some more pictures of my recently painted militiamen, these men will for the spine for my Flemish militia. The figures are from Artizan Design and the pack is called Goumier command. The men are equiped with British and American kit which wasn't really my intention but well they are after all an organised bunch of farmers and artisans which took up every weapon and kit they could find, to fight for the cause.
I hope you enjoy the pictures,

Hi, today I'm posting about the contest I joined over at The Lead Adventure Forum! This year the contest has been organised for the fifth time and gathers no less than 72 participants, all seeking for glory or just a way to motivate them to paint at least 5 miniatures a week! The contest is played in 10 rounds in which each contestant duels with another contestant, to rise in the ranking you can gather points by theme bonus rounds, winning a round, voting points and new team bonus points! Because I'm too lazy to type over all the rules, here's a link for the rules: The Lead Adventure Forum
Round one is now up for voting! I'm not telling which entry I have entered just to be fair but regular visitors will be able to point him out easily. The quality of the paintjob and photographs is amazing, so I'm hoping to finish somewhere in bottom 10 of the ranking! Here's the link to all the eye candy! Just scroll down to see all the entries!
If you want to vote, just join the forum which is a gathering place for all wargame fanatics, terrain builders and brush masters! For wargamers who want to join the contest, I'm afraid I will disappoint you as the entry date for the entire contest is passed.
I hope you enjoy all the eye candy!
Greets,
PS: this contest is the reason for the few posts as I'm scrambling to paint my entries, only 9 to go!

Colonial houses
Hi, here's finally a new and decent post with some picture of my new terrain for my ongoing VSF-project. This time, two colonial houses which will be used as part of my British colonisation plans of Mbuij Mayi! These buildings were made as generic as possible and with materials which you can find in every household.
The houses some months ago:
The buildings are made out of cartonboard and based on soft hardboard textured with sand and PVA.
The first house with a small shed, I really like the vines on the side which were made by attaching clumps of foliage with hotglue. The bases are decorated with the usual mix of flock and aquarium plants.
The front of the second house, the windows were made out of some sort of plastic material (really don't know the name even not in dutch) and were framed with pieces of used matches.
The two houses together, I've tried to imitate some sort of rusty tiled roof. In real the roofs are looking a bit better than in the pictures.
The mission post, will it be able to resist native attacks or will the post be overrun?

Old School Terrain, part 4
Hi, here's a new part of my old school serie of terrain! This time, the barn as all of my old pieces the basic shape has been made out of wood and covered with scraps of woods and tar. This building has seen many battles, as kit was often the barn where the riders of Rohan stalled their fierce steeds. During such a battle all of the riders started on foot and were forced to fight their way through the village in an attempt to mount (gaining them 2 dices in a charge and the ability to trample!) My collection of Rohan cavalry consist out of 18 riders of which 6 are armed with bows and several heroes such as Eomer and Theodred. I hope you enjoyed the post as I'm unable to show any of my recently painted miniatures due to a painting contest in which you aren't allowed to post your miniatures online before the contest ends.
