Games Workshop: We’ve just got out of the latest preview seminar, and we’ve got news for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game! Hot on the heels of the Gondor at War supplement comes the Scouring of the Shire – a new book that allows you to recreate Saruman’s attempted conquest of the Hobbits after the War of the Ring.
You’ll have all sorts of new Hobbit Heroes to choose from, as well as a selection Ruffian Leaders for them to confront. What’s more, we’ll be bringing you a new kit designed to make building realistic and beautiful Hobbit-holes easy, letting you construct your own corner of the Shire. We’re not stopping there, either – there’s much more for Middle-earth planned after the Scouring of the Shire – like this new model representing Déorwine, Chief of the King’s Knights.
The classic miniature of Golfimbul is also set to make a return. Golfimbul – the fearsome Goblin warlord killed by Bandobras “the Bullroarer” Took in the Battle of Greenfields (and whose decapitated head was inadvertently responsible for creating the sport of golf after it flew 100 yards and rolled down a rabbit hole).
