Games Workshop: Impressive Warhammer 40K Genestealer Cult Goliath Vehicles Previewed

Pictures have been leaked online of the upcoming Games Workshop Genestealer Cult plastic Goliath and Goliath Rockgrinder. As you will see in the pictures these will be packed with some serious firepower.

Following the recent release of Deathwatch and the upcoming release of the individual Genestealer plastic boxed sets along with their own Genestealer Cult Codex. Games Workshop has been working on these new multipart plastic Genestealer vehicles adding more deadly firepower to your vulnerable Genestealer Cultists.

"Something deeply strange is going on at Ghosar Quintus. The mining planetoid’s population has developed odd habits and unsettling iconography. A suspicious transmission from Inquisitor Chaegryn, sent to investigate, has given the Imperium cause for alarm - ordinarily a man of absolute conviction, outside influences appear to have changed his mind. Kill Team Excis, tasked with investigating the Inquisitor’s behaviour, has gone silent, and references to a ‘four-armed Emperor’ have been detected." Deathwatch Boardgame Background

Some readers may have expected a more luxury ride for these cultists thinking back at the dashing Warhammer 40K Coven Limousines of times long gone. Pimped and deadly, Coven Limousines were customised civilian vehicles used by powerful individuals and their cultists on desolate frontier worlds. Back in the days Games Workshop even wrote that you could easily use diecast 1/43 metal model vehicles!

The Warhammer 40K inspired Coven Limousine model as shown above was scratchbuild using the excellent 1/56th scale resin high quality Spanish Civil War Hispano Suiza MC-36 from Minairons Miniatures.  This kit was pimped with grav wheels and Warhammer 40K bits check out the hood ornament!

Should you be looking for vehicles more like the ones pictured above from days long gone, make sure to check Wargame Exclusive which is selling excellent high-quality resin model vehicles such as the Genetic Cult Armored Coven Limo on Antigrav among others. although not cheap they look cool. You surely arrive in style with these pimped and supercharged rides!

But things are as they are and now we are looking at two variant of some impressive heavily armed vehicles, ready to cause mayhem on your war torn Warhammer 40K tabletop battlefields.

The first variant is the Goliath which is also the base of the variant version named the Goliath Rockgrinder according to online sources. Looking at the differences between these models, you can clearly see that the Goliath Rockgrinder is equipped with a large blade with further grinders. The blade equipped model is also carrying a larger support weapon next to the driver cabin. Looking great but I'm expecting the worst regarding pricing, would have considered to pick some up for science fiction games and maybe to convert to civilian duty trucks for the Warlord Games' Judge Dredd game.
