Mayku Industries: FormBox: A Desktop Vacuum Former Kickstarter Launched

Mayku Industries has just launched their Kickstarter to fund the production of their affordable FormBox, desktop vacuum former.

Mayku Industries is small company located in Somerset House, London teamed by two young savvy inventors and designers, Alex and Ben. With their years of combined experience in fullfilling Kickstarters, they are now looking to fund the production of their own FormBox, desktop vacuum former and bringing the production of an endless range of unique products into your own home!

So what's the FormBox exactly? The FormBox is the affordable desktop vacuum forming machine able to replicate thousands of shapes in light weight and durable plastic. The replicating process is actually quite straight forward as the FormBox heats up the plastic sheets while your attached vacuum cleaner creates suction to pull the plastic around your original shape. The only thing you have to do is bringing down the heated plastic using the FormBox. As you might have concluded, the user friendly design  of the FormBox allows you to duplicate your models very easily! Check out the following video which shows the entire process of duplicating a banana in a matter of seconds.

You can then use the made form as the final product or use this shape to cast the desired shape in concrete, chocolate, soap, plaster and more materials. Again the amount of possibilities is endless. Being a modeller and wargamer myself I can easily see these being used to easily cast hundreds of plaster dragon teeth obstacles to bolster the defences of the World War Two German Siegfried Line or to create dozens of light weight hulls for your custom made ships as we all know ship hulls are difficult to shape!

Modelling inspiration- Wargame hobby company Amera Plastic Mouldings is using the same method with industrial vacuum formers to create their huge catalogue of light weight and affordable plastic scenery. So if you're looking for inspiration make sure to take a look on their website.

The FormBox is announced to be shipped, starting in March 2017 for the first batches and by supporting the Kickstarter now you can get your own FormBox with enough supplies to get you started for $349. Affordable, robust and easy to use is making the FormBox also great to share with your children, family and friends. Create and duplicate everything you desire in plastic at your home or local public designer and inventor workplace! So why not check out the FormBox Kickstarter out here for more information. Top-notch idea and execution, looking forward in hearing more from Mayku Industries.
