Games Workshop has announced during the Throne of Skulls tournament at Nottingham that they have extended their Lord of the Rings license and will be releasing new books and miniatures!
I have managed to gather the following news from online sources to give you an idea of the upcoming plans for the Lord of the Rings miniature game.
Rules - The skirmish game system will remain mostly the same. While they will also add more Middle Earth history and lore to the game which wasn't covered or less covered in previous miniature releases and books.
Miniatures - The new sculptors have been hired and certain out of production miniatures will also be re-released probably through Forge World and in resin not finecast. Most likely new plastic miniature boxed sets will also be released. It's also rumoured that the Perry Miniatures which sculpted most of the Lord of the Rings miniature range are currently sculpting dwarfs (Dain character is among them) for the Battle of the Five Armies.
Books - Adam Stroke will be working for at least four year on new Lord of the Rings books. Old source books will be reprinted and re-released while a brand new source book will already be released in October.
So as you can read finally some more support for the Lord of the Rings miniature game including new books and miniatures!
