Spartan Games: New Dystopian Wars: Fleet Action Fast Play Rulebook and Battle for Iceland Starter Set

Spartan Games announced their new Dystopian Wars Fleet Action Fast Play Rules and the new The Battle for Iceland Starter Set: Calling all Commodores and Generals… Dust off your Dystopian Wars Armies because have we got some fantastic news for you!

Fleet Action is the new fast play game engine set in the world of Dystopian Wars, which will allow you to take your existing forces and, with no change to what you already own, play a faster, leaner, deadlier game of the world’s leading Victorian Super Science Fiction wargame. Based on requests from our gaming community, we have gone back to the basic premise of what makes Dystopian Wars great and rebuilt it into a 45 minuteplus wargame that pays homage to our vast selection of highly detailed models, extends the colourful world we have created and provides continuity of gameplay for all of our customers. Fleet Action Rulebook £7.50

“Dystopian Wars 2.0 is the ultimate in immersive gaming,” explains Derek Sinclair, lead game designer for Spartan Games. “When we created 2.0 it was a mammoth job, which with 500 plus models and the ability to fight all three theatres of war: land, sea and air. But we completed it and the vast player base it has is testimony to the in depth, granular game play it delivers. Following Gen Con 2015 it became clear that our gaming community wanted more from our rules. They wanted a way to play faster games, and to also play with more models!”

So we set the project in motion to take the best parts of Dystopian Wars and simplify them to the point that players don’t have to worry about complexity in turning, linking mechanics and hit modifiers, etc. Instead, they can concentrate on getting to grips with a more action-focused game that enables players to play faster with the models they already own, or indeed to put more models on the table to play bigger battles!
