Orcs in the Webbe: I hope you all have had a cracking start to 2015. As the long term stalwarts know I usually take January off from my duties on OITW in a bid to get some actual games in and this January was no exception. Now we are well in February I decided it was time I pull my finger out of my proverbial and get on with my plans for 2015.
What are they I hear you cry (cry is probably a bit strong, idly muse is more likely). Well unusually for me, this year, that is completely up to you. Yep, that's right you get to choose what appears on Orcs in the Webbe during 2015. The reasoning for this is two fold, firstly I know the core readership is a pretty solid bunch who would read whatever I print. However the afore mentioned core is actually a pretty small number in the grand scheme and what better way to ensure they get what they want than by asking them. Secondly I have a typical gamers brain, not a day goes by where my focus doesn't shift onto at least three different topics. By getting you guys to give me targets, it keeps me in line.
I've run OITW for ten years know and I think it's found it's place. Delusions of grandeur regarding pay-for-content ideas and printed magazine variants have been shelved (although I never say never). So, where does that leave us... Well, I have a core team of writers signed up to the general direction of OITW and between us I'm hoping we can fill any and all of your requests.
What sort of thing do I mean... Anything! Graphical content, PDFs, scenarios, articles, new games, complete print and play games, terrain articles, painting guides... The sky is the limit. Ask for whatever you want. These requests can be for ANY games system. It does not have to have been previously featured on OITW. I have a very very extensive gaming library and can probably lay my hands on anything I don't have. So, tell me what you want and (fingers crossed) it shall be so.
Every Monday I'll post a State of Play update on the site with links in all the usual places so you can see what I'm working on. and what's coming up. I have already had requests for the re-implementation of Flintloque Friday. Every Friday OITW will present you with something new for Flintloque. Yep, new. I will continue reproducing old scenarios (if people still want that) but every Friday will be something new for Flintloque, the game for which OITW was initially created over a decade ago (that sounds so cool).
This message is going out to The Notables, The Historical Orc, the OITW Facebook Page and Wargames News and Terrain first so get your requests in. Either reply via the in built comment system wherever you read this or email me directly - madwelshwizard at the gmail with the dot com.
