Khurasan Miniatures: We are very pleased to release the latest in our series of Cold War armour, the Chinese Type 59 tank. In many ways similar to the T-55, it had some noticeable differences (as it was in fact more a copy of the T-54A than the T-55). For example, it had the HMG mounted on the turret roof, which had been removed from the T-55 (before being added back later when helicopters became more of a threat). It is also lacking the IR searchlight next to the main gun, and the radiation shielding on the driver's hatch.
The Type 59 was a virtual Forrest Gump of AFVs, being in the midst of virtually every war in the third world since its release. This vehicle is painted as a Pakistani tank from the 1971 war with India but the model could equally be used for gaming the later period of the Vietnam War (more than the Soviet vehicles, the Chinese Type 59 was the mainstay of the NVA's armour) and the Iran Iraq War. Available now, either singly or in a platoon pack.
