The Bloodvarg adds some strategic flexibility to the Nordgaard armies with its fast movement, which is beneficial in combination with Skannfyrd humans and especially useful with Nordgaard Dwarven warbands. In the taiga, tundra and mountain ranges of Calydorn roams a deadly predator and king-of beasts which normally occupies the top of the food-chain in its region; men call them Vargs. In appearance they resemble giant wolves with powerful thick legs and sharp fangs. Nordgaard makes use of several breeds of Varg, including the Bloodvarg.
To call such reared animals tame would be an over-statement, but they are manageable if their master is tough and shows no fear. Any master who does not assert himself soon becomes dinner. Though loyal, Vargs do not display any of the softer traits common to a domesticated dog, and they will regularly challenge a handler’s authority just to check who is still master. Such ferocious behavior is a sign of a good, strong beast. The Bloodvarg is due for release in the coming weeks.
