The Cat-6 Multi-Plex began with being asked to design a table for a local game store to work with their Sci-Fi tabletop mini games. The main request was to make it an area worth fighting over. With that in mind I felt a business park would be a good theme to work with. Trying to be a little different than just making square buildings the hexagon design came into play. That building evolved into making it stackable as well as extendable. Though the prototype stages I came up with the idea of pre painting my material. By doing this it saved much time in building the kits and having a ready to play piece when finished.
Also, by adding the protective tape to the material before running it through the laser, it allowed the ability to pull off tape from specific areas to do some accent painting if needed to set off those specific areas. The job was completed with an overwhelming success. So much of a success that the small laser that I use for doing these is just not built to keep up with this type of demand. I decided to keep the pledge system simple so I can focus on keeping pledge orders fulfilled in a timely manor.
