WarTime Miniatures: This is a crowdfunding project with a difference! There's no risk as you will get miniatures of your choice- from any of WarTime’s own ranges to the value you choose! This projects primary aim is to speed up release of a range that WarTime plans to make anyway in due course, but with the added bonus of giving you some great discounts for simply pre purchasing your figures!
WarTime Miniatures has decided to undertake a project to make a range of accurate 28mm WWII Australian CMF (Militia) and regular forces that took part in the Kokoda Track Campaign against the Japanese. The intention of this project is to capture the look and feel of these iconic Militia and regular soldiers as they stemmed the tide of the Japanese advance across the Kokoda Track towards Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.
To help this project move along in a more timely fashion, WarTime Miniatures is opening up the opportunity for those interested to "pre purchase" their figures. This will help to generate the funds and provides the chance to have the figures completed significantly quicker than they otherwise may be possible. Of course by pre purchasing you will receive a scaled discount depending on how much you spend. This is WarTime Miniatures way of saying thank you for "buying off the plan" and helping to see this range come to life.
Payment can be made directly via PayPal or Bank deposit (I will supply details when purchase is submitted). You can pre purchase by buying one of the "pre purchase" amounts in the shopping cart. As mentioned, depending on how much you pre purchase, you will received a scaled discount which will be useable for any figures from WarTime Miniatures own ranges, not just this project. This is deliberate to give you as much flexibility as possible on your figure choices. Depending on the level of commitment, it is planned to release the range in time for CANCON 2014, which is over the Australia Day Long Weekend 24-26 January 2014.
This project will be slightly different from others of its type in that once each level is reached, it will go into production. This is because WarTime Miniatures plans to make the range in due course regardless, what you are doing is help see the range completed allot quicker than it may otherwise, by about 12-18 months all going well. To help keep track of the project the packs will be graded as “Closed” (less than 50% funded), “Pending” (more than 50% funded) and “Open” (fully funded) followed by a date. This will give a gauge by date where funding is at for reaching the next pack. The initial range consists of 16 figures broken down into 6 packs. $2600 is needed to see the full set done. This is about 70% the actual costs, but it goes along way to the total amount and WarTime Miniatures will commit the difference. The figures will be similar in size and proportions to mainstream figures currently available such Warlord.
To ensure there is enough time for each stage to be completed by the proposed release date, you will be able to pre purchase up to midnight Sunday the 1st of December 2013. After which the remaining time is needed to finish the relevant sculpting, moulding and casting. To give the project a start Pack 1 will be funded by WarTime Miniatures and is automatically open!
